Scam by new sellers offering local pickup. Doesn't anyone talk about it?
Good evening,
I was scammed by a seller with 0 feedback who set the listing to "local pickup" but in the item title, description, or direct messages, wrote "I ship throughout Italy".
Wrongly, feeling protected by paying with "Paypal" I made the purchase and right after I received the message saying "shipped". The lack of tracking made me suspicious, which then turned into the certainty that I had been scammed. The seller disappeared.
I checked the Paypal buyer protection program and it says in big letters that Paypal does not refund buyers for purchases on ebay with local pickup.
I paid dearly for my mistake, I bought in a hurry, finding out that paypal no longer acts like paypal or at least not like I remembered it.
Searching for products on ebay I discovered lots of sellers with very similar names and 0 feedback.
Why is nobody talking about it?

Unfortunately you relied on Paypal, but if you had opened a request for an item not delivered directly on ebay, the seller would have had no proof to show the system that it had been shipped.
Otherwise, if you, very naively, told the seller the code that ebay sends only to you to prove pickup... if you did that, you scammed yourself.
Kind regards.
