Scammed twice?
Summary: ludam_45missbonnie describes a problematic transaction on eBay where they sold an item for €491.39 but received a lower credited amount from eBay. The buyer claimed the product was not as ordered and requested a return, but the return was not completed. Scammed twice!!! I'm asking those more experienced than me on Ebay: I sold for an amount of € 491,39, EBAY credited me €354,30. The customer wanted to return the product because it didn't match what they ordered. So far so good, the return wasn't done, I also made a bank transfer to the customer of € 30,00 for shipping, he sent the return transfer back to me and kept the product. I asked Ebay to intervene for the refund, nothing was done. Ebay refunded the customer the amount he paid including VAT, that is € 491,39. Now Ebay is asking me for the full amount paid to the customer. Is this how it works? I lose the product, the refund of € 491,39 plus the cost of the goods for more than € 600,00. VAT is paid for a sale, not for a return, why is Ebay asking me for the full amount that it didn't credit me?
