Seller protection
On Dec. 12 last year I sold a model car shipped on the 13th (the next day) with Postedelivery standard POSTE ITALIANE with regular tracking shown on the portal and by sending the buyer proof of the Poste receipt, from which it can be seen that the destination address provided was correct and that the postal office actually took charge of it (shipping cost of 9.90 charged to the buyer).
The item did not arrive at the rightful buyer and from the tracking it can be inferred that it went to the Sorting Center in Bologna of the Poste and was marked as delivered but to whom (misplaced, stolen ....).
Now the buyer has rightly filed a complaint and I, within the deadline provided for in cases like this, responded and explained as above.
But what will happen now? Meanwhile I filed a complaint with the Poste on 9/1/2024 but at most they will reimburse (given the type of shipment, NOT insured) the postage costs I paid for sending it.
However, there are two people harmed: both me (the value/price of the model) and the buyer (price and shipping costs):
Will EBAY hold the payment (currently pending) and pass it entirely to the buyer, and that's it?
Will EBAY refund the buyer on its own initiative since the transactions are covered by member protection, releasing the amount now blocked in my favor?
THANK YOU for any response.

Mentore2 years ago.... even if it were shown (because of a postal error) delivered to an address different from the one eBay gave you, you will have to refund the buyer.

Mentore2 years agoHello,
it doesn't make sense... if the package has been delivered, ask for proof of delivery and you're all set... if instead it's still in transit, make an effort to voluntarily refund the buyer, otherwise eBay will do it for you with the resulting defect on your performance.
Best regards.
