Can a buyer leave feedback on an order they didn't place?
Summary: The thread discusses whether a buyer can leave feedback on an order they did not actually place. marivoro0 raises the issue, while marioelegio and other participants discuss the implications of such a situation.
A buyer in October 2025 bought an item from me, then asked to cancel the sale because he hadn’t noticed that the item was described as not working. This before even paying. So I canceled the order right away and politely said goodbye to him. Yesterday, January 8, 2026, after months, I received neutral feedback from the buyer in which he wrote "order not completed". But the cancellation request was his! How is that possible? I therefore asked the buyer to change the feedback since no transaction took place. He changed it to positive feedback, but in the comment he wrote negative things as if I had forced him to do it. I am speechless. Is it possible to ask eBay to remove the feedback since no transaction was ever completed? And is it also appropriate to report the buyer for reckless use of the platform? Thank you.

Mentore8 months agoYou could and still can request the removal of the feedback:
If you believe that feedback is against our rules, you can contact us within 90 days of the transaction to request its removal.

Also consider that in the event of legal action, having used: "Piece of sh**" in a written communication could cost you dearly.
