A PIECE OF ADVICE

Question

I excluded sales abroad because I don't feel like dealing with the possible problems, but I’m happy to ship within the EU. right now I have a buyer from the USA (with great feedback in Italy) who would like to buy a batch of books. considerable physical weight and value. once the shipment is purchased, do I have to fill out the forms? since these are books bought 20 years ago I obviously don’t have an invoice, is it needed? who calculates customs, VAT and exchange rate? I’d appreciate it if someone could explain the process to me in detail from A to Z (if it’s not doable, of course I’ll give up).
