Information about a return method recommended to me by the seller.
A dvd I bought arrived defective. I contacted the seller to return it and get a refund. As the method for sending the dvd back, the seller wrote to me:
"If it doesn't work, you can put it back in the envelope we sent you and drop it into a mailbox, writing on the envelope: RETURN TO SENDER, you won't have to pay anything"
I'm new to this method of sending a package back. Has anyone already sent a package back to the sender this way? If so, does it work?

Mentore2 years agoForget it, it’s a method that, besides being impossible to carry out, is absolutely unsafe for you; you won’t have any way to prove the shipment and delivery of the return.
Open the correct return request on eBay, then the seller will have to provide the shipping label... if they do nothing, on the fourth day you can ask eBay to step in:

OP2 years agoI want to clarify that I actually opened a return request on eBay and when I explained the situation to the seller, he even issued me a refund even though I had not sent the DVD back yet. So I did get the refund. I just care that the product is returned for a matter of fairness, since the seller refunded me in advance.
It’s just that I find this method really strange.

Mentore2 years agoSince it is therefore the seller's responsibility to arrange the return shipment, tell him that you will keep the item available for a period of time that you consider reasonable, after which you will dispose of it.
If he does not provide the label himself, the method he proposed is senseless.
