An item (without tracking) that, because of the reported arrival delay, was refunded to me. Then it arrived: who should I send the money to? Directly to the seller?

Mentore2 years agoYes, you should contact the seller directly and arrange with them for a new payment.

OP2 years agoBut then I would end up excluding e-bay! The rules say that you must not deal privately and, even less, pay the seller outside of e-bay, which in turn must record the amount of money it has transferred. When you pay for an item, you do not do it privately to the seller, but rather to e-bay, which handles and processes it. That should be the way for all payments.

Mentore2 years agoAccording to eBay, the transaction was closed with the refund.
An honest person would still want to pay what they received, but that can’t be done through eBay.
You received the item and I think it is as described, so there is more reason for the payment to be handled through eBay guarantee.
That’s why you need to agree with the seller on a payment by bank transfer or PayPal (which are still traceable payments).
