You can only try to reason with him, before he opens a case. After it’s opened (if the return was traceable to your address) you wouldn’t have a chance.

The sale item is 115407816027.

The user initiated a return without being authorized to do so

If it doesn't go through ebay (or another dispute) you're not forced to refund, but he has at his disposal:

30 days from receiving the item to open an ebay dispute,
180 days from payment for a paypal dispute
one year to do a chargeback.

Keep in mind that all three will side with him.

If he insists that that’s what he found in the package you sent him, it’ll be his word against yours.

Almost certainly eBay will side with him (if he doesn’t make mistakes and contradict himself) and if you don’t refund him, they will do it themselves.
