An eBay user is dropshipping one of my products sold on Amazon.

Good morning everyone,

As the title says, while doing some quick research on a product I sell on Amazon, I discovered that a user is selling, via dropshipping, one of my products on eBay, blatantly taken and copied from my professional Amazon FBA store.

As usual, it’s a clearly private account that shouldn’t be doing business but is doing it in defiance of the rules.

I therefore wanted to understand whether this practice, although it violates the terms and conditions of both eBay and Amazon, could also cause problems for me, and if so, which ones.

They haven’t sold any yet and I caught it in time, so I was asking you for suggestions on how to act.

Report the seller to eBay, both for the copied informational material and for the dropshipping activity without any agreement with the supplier.

So, besides the report I will definitely make, you say that this drop practice as a rule, without any authorization, creates problems for the seller (that is, me)? And if so, which ones?

It creates problems mainly for the seller, that is, for him, both from a tax point of view and from a contractual point of view (eBay forbids short selling and allows dropshipping only if there is a supply agreement between the seller and their supplier).

For you, as his supplier, it can create problems with Amazon, only if you do not ship. For you there are no tax issues, since for you he is simply a private individual buying your product.

Ah ok, better that way.

I looked into the matter more closely and actually, for my professional eBay store, there is a way to sell products through a process where I could list my product and ship it via Amazon logistics. I know it can probably be done since I would be the product owner and therefore, by shipping it through my Amazon logistics service, it wouldn't be considered dropshipping (before creating the listing, I'll ask eBay support for more clarification to get confirmation and maybe I'll post an answer here if it might be useful to someone).

That said, I also have to say that partly I didn't want to do this, since for some people this stuff is pretty confusing (as it happened to me as a customer) and they'd end up confused to see Amazon packaging on an eBay shipment and might leave negative feedback, but at least this way I should protect myself from these morons who, while dropshipping Amazon stuff, think everyone is an idiot and profit off other people's work.

I'll probably have to write in the listing that this product is shipped via Amazon, so they can't complain if they see Amazon packaging or anything else.
