I should point out that in my listings I always write that I do not accept returns, but I was wondering: if I sell a lot of (for example) 200 postcards and the buyer says I only sent 180, asks for a refund and keeps the 20, does my "I do not accept returns" mean anything? (as a private seller) ..also I wanted to ask, if they intend to return an item to me, how much time do they have to do it?

Mentore3 years agoWhat you write only applies to the buyer's reconsideration.
in the case of a return request for non-conformity, it is useless. The buyer has 30 days to inspect the item and check whether it matches the listing or not. If they consider it not compliant, they can ask to return it. You can accept or not but, if you don't accept, ebay decides for you. If ebay decides that it is a case of non-conformity, it refunds without worrying about the return and then recovers from you.
In cases of non-conformity, return shipping costs are always (by law) the seller's responsibility.
From the moment you accept the return and send a prepaid label, the buyer has another 10 days to return the item.

Mentore3 years agoIf they open a return request for an item not as described, you are obliged to accept it... as a private seller you can only refuse a return request for change of mind or for buying the wrong item.
After the request is opened, you have 3 days to respond to the request... if you do nothing, on the 4th day the buyer can ask eBay to step in and you risk losing money and the item...
