I just sold an item to a user created today; if the value weren’t so high I wouldn’t have a problem sending it, but since the item is worth 3500 euros, and since it’s a limited edition article still packaged and sealed (which keeps its value), I’m afraid to ship it to a user like that. He has already paid, I tried to ask him a few questions via message but he replies in a very vague way, I don’t know what to do and I’m afraid I won’t be protected by eBay if he were to open some dispute in order to try to scam me.

Mentore2 weeks agoUnfortunately, this is one of the risks of all distance sales with protected payment (credit card, PayPal, Klarna, etc...).
Even if the platform tried to protect you, the payment method would take care of it afterward. For a value like that, a shipping service with signature upon delivery would protect you against disputes over receipt (if you hand it over in person, absolutely scan the buyer’s code), but you wouldn’t have protection against fake "non-compliance" claims and you might have to pay to get back a piece of junk.
No photo or video could be definite proof of compliance; you sell it sealed and describe it as new. If he opens it and something doesn’t work, he can return it to you.
You wouldn’t even be safe if the buyer had years of purchases on eBay.
In general, scammers know these fears sellers have and use "seasoned" accounts.
