Sale of an item: discrepancy on the date
Good morning! I sold an item and received the email notifying me that the sale had gone through on 1/6.
Then I go to check the order details, and I find that the sale took place on 3/6.
Since the buyer purchased but did not pay, I'm in a difficult position because today is 5/6 and according to the email the 4 days have already passed and I could cancel the sale and relist the item, while according to Ebay only 2 days have passed...
But this discrepancy of as much as 2 days is strange and I don't understand the reason: who should I believe, the email that Ebay sent me or the website?

OP3 years agoThanks for the reply. For what it's worth, I'm letting you know how it ended. Since I set the time the buyer has to pay to 4 days, the buyer didn't pay and so the sale canceled itself and the item went back on sale. The interesting thing is that the order cancellation happened 4 days after the sale certified by the email, and not from the date that appeared on the site.
My conclusion, then, is that in cases like this, the date in the email is 100% authoritative, while the sale date that appears on the site may not be reliable or correct... Of course, all this does not affect in any way the process of selling - or not selling - an item, but I find it odd that the site reported a wrong sale date, and one delayed by a full 2 days! Anyway, that's it. Thanks again x the reply.
