Pirated DVD sales
Good morning everyone, it’s the first time I’m writing in this community but I’m definitely furious! I’ve been on eBay for 18 years, I’ve always respected all the platform’s rules even when, over time, I didn’t agree with some of the changes introduced. Today I find myself having to send this thing already and I just can’t do it: I came across a seller offering hundreds of DVDs for sale, all listed as "NEW NEVER OPENED", but asking to be contacted before buying. I do that and the seller specifies by message that they are burned copies. I reported everything to eBay, 3 times already!!! Result: NOTHING! This person still has everything posted and keeps selling as if nothing happened. This thing literally disgusts me!

Mentore3 years agoYou can report both the seller and the listings, but these reports are unlikely to be followed up on (since it’s not possible to attach documentation anyway). The best thing is to send the report to those harmed by this illegal activity (the record label); they’ll take care of asserting their interests.
If you have the messages, there’s also the GDF for a complaint.

OP3 years agoHi Mario, everything you say is exactly right and I completely agree. I would have liked to avoid putting myself out there directly when, in the first instance, Ebay should be the one stepping in to enforce anti-piracy rules and laws. Instead, it seems they prefer to turn a blind eye and make money from sales commissions even on items whose sale should be prohibited
