Laptop Sale and Dispute...

Good evening
I find myself here telling a recent dispute over the above-mentioned item, hoping it might be food for thought or useful to someone; I’ll try to keep the “technicalities” to a minimum, aware that obviously not everyone may be familiar with the subject.
So, about a couple of weeks ago I completed the sale of a laptop (HP G62) with Ubuntu o.s installed and various software
After a few days from receiving it, I was contacted by the buyer who implied that the machine tended to overheat, going into “protection” and then shutting down after a few minutes while he was trying to install another operating system (win11..!)
I pointed out to him that I had tested that computer and kept it on for about a week precisely to install more than a hundred GB of software on it without any problem, and that the issue was probably due to the fact that the little beast only had 4GB of RAM and so it was very problematic to install that o.s
He almost took offense, saying he was “a technician” and that this was absolutely impossible and so on... only to contact me shortly after saying that everything was ok, that by changing to another SSD win had installed without problems and that therefore the problem was the first SSD used, “defective?..” (even though my opinion remained the same), so much so that, needless to say, later he started again saying that it was still overheating and shutting down (I’m a humble little technician too, and sometimes you hit the mark)
Despite everything, he insists and keeps wanting to try to install and get the same result, so I tell him to put the original HDD back in and try leaving it on and he’ll see that no problem will show up
Two days of silence pass, then he comes out saying that he’s doing it anyway (at that point I reply that it’s impossible, also because otherwise how could I have installed everything?), he promises me a video (never received)
In the last episode he sends me a photo where he says he has only now noticed a slight crack on the plastic frame of the screen.....and at that point I say to myself ENOUGH..
I start setting him straight and listing the fact that I sent him exactly what was described in the listing and that he, by his own admission, started working on, modifying, or if you prefer experimenting with this item, which in the end from the beginning of time is at his own risk and would void any warranty (regardless of the fact that here we’re talking about a private sale), but then (and here I’m addressing the “technicians”) if he defines himself as such it would take him a moment to open it up, clean it, apply a bit of thermal paste and close it back up... also because (and those in the field know it) it’s very common for this operation to be necessary on more or less dated machines..
The moral of the story is that the mega-tech buyer opened a dispute for the charge directly with his payment institution asking for 70% of the amount and to keep the item; I refrain from any comment or judgment, but I’m not one to let myself be pushed around, whatever happens happens
I’ll conclude by saying or reminding that I’m not here asking for help, since everyone acts as they see fit, nor for solutions (no one has the absolute truth), but only so that this may perhaps serve someone else and maybe make us reflect once more on why humanity is so messed up THANK YOU ALL...
