The seller says I returned it to the wrong address, but that's not true
Summary: The discussion concerns a problem with a seller who claims that an item was returned to the wrong address, but albna6424 says that this is not true. sika700 joins the conversation, but no specific details are provided.
Hi, I’m writing here to understand what will happen and how to proceed. I bought some AirPods that I later discovered were counterfeit (confirmed directly by Apple, I have the document proving it). The return process to the seller was initiated, and they provided an address that I noticed was different from the one they had originally shipped the item from, but of course I sent it to the address provided in the return process anyway, because that’s the one that matters, right?
The package arrived and now the seller has opened a dispute saying the package was shipped to the wrong address. What happens now? Obviously I sent it to the address indicated in the return process, but can eBay see that? Will they contact me before making a decision to see any evidence? Thanks to anyone who replies

Mentore1 year agoQuestion: if the item was counterfeit, why did you ship it at your own expense?
If you had opened the correct procedure, everything would have been at his expense.
If eBay needs information, it will ask you for it.
Kind regards.

OP1 year agoWhat would have been the correct procedure? I requested a return and the seller accepted it; honestly, I don't know what I could have done differently, maybe I should have given a different reason? I had put "Item does not match the description or photos"
Could it negatively affect eBay's decision?

Mentore1 year agoI really don't think you selected that reason, otherwise it would have been the seller who had to provide you with a return label... obviously if you opened it on eBay... and not on PayPal... or am I wrong?
albna6424
OP1 year agoYes, opened on eBay, the seller had simply provided the address to ship to

Mentore1 year agoSomething doesn’t add up... if the reason was valid, the shipping address could in no way have appeared in the procedure, since it was up to the seller, not you.
If the seller told you in a message... well... you made a big mistake by shipping it yourself...

OP1 year agoNo, no message from the seller, I repeat that the return procedure had already been started; it’s not like we came to an agreement in private

Mentore1 year agoSo either you chose the wrong reason, or more than 30 days have passed since delivery...
