Seller threatens to report me after a return was made | Questions and answers among users

Good morning. A few days ago I bought a tablet from a seller on ebay, very happy even with the price. Not even a week into owning it, after forgetting to charge it when I got home from work, it wouldn’t turn on anymore. I had tried both the original charger and a universal one for almost 2 days. For information, I also asked in a phone repair shop and they too advised me to return it. Resigned to the idea that it was a factory defect, I contacted the seller, who very kindly accepted the return, and I shipped it to him packed as best as possible. Once it arrived, he somehow managed to turn it on and now he accuses me of having lied and orders me to give him the unlock password and says he will report me. Honestly I have no intention of giving the unlock password since there are confidential data inside, both personal and work-related (he can do a hard reset instead), and I offered to buy the tablet back if he can guarantee me at least some kind of warranty because I would never have returned the tablet if I had not truly considered it unusable, and at the moment he has not replied anymore. Ebay anyway refunded me the amount, but the seller, apart from the threat of reporting me, seems to have also appealed with Ebay. How could this be resolved in the best way? What consequences could arise? I did not act in bad faith at all, I only asserted my rights as a consumer, even making myself available to the seller to buy the item back (considering that my data are also inside). I welcome advice and opinions on this..
