infrequent seller 14-day account suspension
Good morning, I would like to know if eBay, after the 15 days(?) of payment hold on my sold item, will also pay the interest due.

Mentore3 years agoDespite high inflation, you have to tie up large sums for 20 years to get a measly 4.5% (BTP).
You ask for interest for 15 days ????? You'd be a usurer.

OP3 years agoyou didn't understand the point, there's no way the seller gets the money after 15 days while the buyer has given it right away to eBay. considering eBay's turnover, it'll make a lot of money by holding onto the money even for just 15 days. try doing the math, for example on 1 million euros, how much is the interest for 15 days?

Mentore3 years agoOn current accounts and for very sizable balances (unless there are limited-time promotions) they don’t give more than 2% over 365 days; over 15 days it’s 0.082%, which on a million would be about 820 euros that then have to be taxed at 27% (as financial gains), so net less than 600.
Also consider that this applies only to new users; regular sellers are paid immediately.

OP3 years agofrom your calculations I think they have a profit of between 20 and 40 thousand euros a day, not bad! ebay is everywhere in the world.
mine, anyway, was a provocation and I needed the money right away to make purchases on ebay not in 15 days when the item I'm interested in will no longer be there.
after the account is unlocked, will other sales follow the same process? always 15 days?
bye and thanks for the discussion.

Mentore3 years agoWhen you become a reliable seller, 2 days. Only ebay will say when you’ll be reliable.
If you read what I wrote, it’s 600 euros per million every 15 days and only on new sellers.
To get to your figures, ebay would have to handle 1 billion every 15 days just from new sellers; honestly, I think we’re not even close in terms of scale.
