selling this on eBay

Question

Hello, I won an auction, with the clause of "Free pickup of the item in the area", on 10/10/2024.

Before placing bids I contacted the seller asking if he was willing to ship the item.

We agreed with an understanding of seriousness between us both.

Then I tried to contact him several times with messages on Ebay, but nothing: the seller gives no "signs of life", he does not reply. It is also true that I have not yet paid for the item I won, because as a precaution I was waiting for the agreed price including tracked shipping.

Since the item is very interesting to me: should I resign myself to the auction being canceled?

Is it not possible to contact him in other ways?

These are the kinds of things not to do.

If only local pickup is expected, shipping represents a major risk, especially for the seller. If I were him, I wouldn’t ship the item to you.

It’s better for everyone to cancel and, if you’re still interested in the item, arrange a custom listing with shipping.
