Good evening everyone, I’m asking. I have several listings on Ebay, but what happens is that if I do a general search for one of my items on my PC, in no time the page for my listing appears. On the other hand, if I search for the same item with another PC (a friend’s, or otherwise), I can’t find the item even if my life depended on it, for hundreds of pages, except if I type in the exact item I listed. Model, brand, and other details entered in the listing. Now, I asked on other Forums whether it was possible that Ebay deliberately hid my listings, and they told me yes, and that it is done to force you to promote your sales with paid sponsorship systems.

In short … it depends on what you sell.

If there are lots of sponsored listings for your item, the unsponsored ones have zero visibility.

If there aren’t any sponsored listings for items similar to yours, it might not be necessary.

It could also be... but I’ve also done this kind of cross-search, items like mine that aren’t sponsored but have prices HIGHER than mine are always at the top. My suspicion is that Ebay favors, regardless of sponsorship promotion, an identical item where the profit for them is greater. For example, my item sold at 200 is put at the bottom of the pages instead of the same item sold at 400. This happens even if mine is sponsored, because the percentage of profit for Ebay is higher on my sponsored product. So it’s not a free market, but something that’s got something illegal about it.
