Absurd. The package never arrived and I can't open a dispute because the time limit has expired.
Summary: videosud_store says they bought a product from America for almost €300, with tracked shipping via Royal Mail and customs duties already paid on eBay. The package got stuck in customs for months with no communication at all, and neither the seller nor videosud_store received any updates. Royal Mail passed the package to Poste Italiane, which says it is a normal customs inspection. After 60 days of waiting, Poste Italiane suggests contacting the seller to open a claim, but eBay rejects the dispute because too much time has passed since the expected delivery date. videosud_store expresses disappointment over the financial loss and the lack of support from eBay.
I bought almost €300 worth of products from America.. shipping with Royal Mail tracked of course, handled by eBay with duties paid at purchase.. package held at customs for months without receiving any communication to send documents or advance payments etc.. neither me nor the seller.
Royal Mail washes its hands of it saying that now it’s in the hands of Poste Italiane, contacting Poste they tell me that there are no problems on their side but that it’s only being held for inspection and at most after 60 days even if they don’t inspect it it will go out for delivery.. so I patiently wait from July 13 to September 13, still in contact with the seller, but unfortunately it doesn’t move and when I contact Poste again they tell me that USUALLY it moves after 60 days and they advise me to contact the seller so they can open a claim with the sending company.. that there’s nothing they can do. I contact the seller and he advises me to open an eBay dispute so maybe they would look into it BUT eBay replies that I can’t open it because too much time has passed from the EXPECTED delivery date. neither I nor the seller knew about this rule!!
so instead of sending only ads maybe eBay could have sent me an alert with this deadline.
the fact is that I have no protection and I lost €300. disappointment!!!

OP2 weeks agoI forgot to mention... EBAY also told me that anyway, even if I had opened it, I WOULD STILL HAVE BEEN IN THE WRONG because once it’s in customs, if there are problems with the packages, it’s the recipient’s fault.
does that seem absurd to you or not?
of course I have the chat with the assistant if anyone has doubts
