Good morning, yes I confirm the lack of phone support, discovered at my expense last week.
If there was one thing that, for better or worse, helped, it was exactly the phone support.
Now to solve a problem, it takes mooooooolto more time.
Operators who reply slowly, chat that cuts off, difficulty making yourself understood and difficulty understanding.
Yes, even to understand!
The last time I needed help, 4 different operators took turns in the chat.
In fact one of them replied to me writing in mangled Italian and with incomprehensible reasoning, when I pointed it out he told me "Sir, I am a human operator, not chatbot, we are speaking Italian, what is not understand" I should laugh but unfortunately all you can do is cry, thinking about how it was before and how it will be...
I don't ask for miracles, but replacing the old number with a system where professional sellers can book a call, maybe with longer waiting times than before, but at least receiving human and real assistance...
Lastly I think the worst is yet to come, all in line with "less to more" applied worldwide to everything...
it’s a mess. I’ve been trying for 10 days to contact them via chat and what they call their '' expert '' by email. they never answer what you ask, the replies are always the same, copied and pasted, and completely off-topic compared to what you asked. Not even writing to them in English helps at all, they don’t understand anyway. it’s turned into a mess on Vinted-levels, eBay’s strength was phone support with REAL HUMAN agents.
@ant.on4 Exactly, that’s precisely the point: changing what used to be a real added value in favor of automation and the pointless loop of preformatted questions and answers was not a good idea..
Among other things, a few days ago there was another problem, another absurd chat, I lost about 80 minutes in chat without solving anything; we ended the chat with the promise that I would be contacted by the technical department, which, to be honest, happened in the morning, where they thanked me for reporting the problem. The thing is, bringing up my issue was very useful for the technical department to become aware of a bug that will need to be fixed.
Meanwhile, I’m thinking “ok I was super good, super nice, super loyal” and all those other lovely words, but the thing is that on eBay you regularly pay commissions and a monthly fee if you have a shop of a certain size, and you’d at least expect dedicated/solution-oriented and HUMAN support.
The problem is deeper, and I fear it won’t concern eBay alone, but will be a slow, general decline of pretty much all platforms.

Sorry for the "chitchat", good luck...
