Return and refund policies
Summary: sorry70 shared an experience with eBay customer service regarding a dispute over a non-working laptop purchased from a German store. After several failed attempts to return the product through the carrier, eBay resolved the situation by offering a refund without requiring the laptop to be returned. Now, the seller is demanding that it be sent back with a new label, threatening legal action if that doesn’t happen. sika700 replied that returning the laptop is mandatory, since a refund means the product becomes the seller’s property again.
Hello eBay customer service sided with me in a dispute over a notebook purchase from a German store. The PC didn't work. I asked the seller several times for a return, and several times I was given return labels that the courier, in this case DHL, did not recognize. I asked eBay to step in and in the end they ruled in my favor, refunding me and without having sent the PC back because I was unable to ship it. Now the seller is demanding that I return the PC to him by sending me a new return label, this time a valid one. I'm asking you in the community... am I required to return it or can I keep it? The seller says that if I don't send it back he will take legal action

·3 weeks agoEbay isn't the law....... and it seems to me the seller has made his legitimate intentions clear by taking legal action in case you don't return the item (whether he follows through or not is another matter....... )
so it's up to you.......

·3 weeks agoIt’s obvious that you’re required to return the PC... what a question...
By getting the refund, the PC has gone back to being the seller’s property; if you keep it, you could be accused of misappropriation.
Kind regards.
