TOTAL DISASTER REGARDING THE LEGAL WARRANTY, COMPLETELY IGNORED
Summary: giannigua reports an issue with a pruning kit purchased on a marketplace, specifically with a bolt for chain tensioning that has become non-functional. After a year and limited use, they express dissatisfaction with the response received from the marketplace, which stated the seller is no longer active. giannigua intends to consult a lawyer, believing the marketplace should take responsibility. Other participants clarify that the marketplace isn't responsible for individual seller transactions and suggest contacting the seller directly, leading to a heated exchange about platform policies and legal responsibilities.

The chainsaw has problems with the small bolt that tightens the chain. Basically, it is embedded in the plastic with the hex head inside, and the plastic part has been stripped, so after a few seconds of use, the blade is no longer as tight as it should be, because the threaded little bolt does not stay under tension.
So it is not usable. Is there any fix that can be done? Do I need to send it in for repair? In about a year, altogether I may have used it for a couple of hours in total. A bit little, I think, for it to get ruined like that. I look forward to your instructions.
Thank you for your attention.
EBAY'S REPLY : THE SELLER NO LONGER SELLS WITH US, SORT IT OUT YOURSELF.
A TOTAL DISGRACE.
I WILL HAVE MY LAWYER WRITE.

·3 weeks agoEbay didn't sell you anything. You bought from a seller on eBay.
Your lawyer will tell you that the seller is directly responsible for the legal warranty.
If the seller is no longer on eBay, they will tell you to contact them directly (and therefore to sort it out yourself).

OP3 weeks ago · EditedLegally, I paid eBay, and I can prove it. The seller is responsible, by law. And whoever collects the payment is called the SELLER. I will take this to the proper authorities.
I’ll add: in any case, the fact that you don’t provide the details of the so-called “seller” as you call them, smells like a scam to me.
Regards.

·3 weeks ago · Editedin response to those who still haven't understood that on the users community, it's not Ebay support that replies but only Ebay users (that is, buyers and/or purchasers registered on the platform)
.....hard to understand?
