Scam and insults and eBay doesn't step in ...
Summary: aurora27paola reports experiencing a fraudulent transaction on eBay, where an acquirer falsely claimed a defect in a Blu Ray they purchased and insulted them. Despite providing evidence to eBay, including video documentation of the item's shipment, aurora27paola feels unsupported, as eBay's customer service advised blocking the buyer and contacting law enforcement. Other participants, daxsisko and quartzdrive, share similar frustrations with eBay's tendency to favor buyers and the lack of effective customer support, suggesting legal action or providing further evidence to eBay as possible steps.
Good morning, I sold a Blu Ray.....the buyer after receiving it contacted me sending a photo that did not match what was sent because mine had a tiny missing spot of color...something that in the photo sent to show the damage the item did not show, so it was an obvious scam...also, when I pointed out to the buyer that I had filmed the various steps before shipping, with proper packaging..bubble wrap and reinforcing cardboard that wrapped the blu ray strengthening it, plus the padded envelope...I reported it to eBay...the platform’s advice ...Block the buyer...well eBay goes against what it says since it is written on the site that anyone who insults or threatens gets banned...perfect, I find myself with an open return dispute where I’m forced to accept either a partial refund ... eBay’s final response ...contact law enforcement....I think I’ll leave the site since scams will increase...you talk to an artificial intelligence when you file a complaint, you can no longer call for clarifications, so how do you protect yourself?.....what do you think ???? Thanks

·2 weeks agoUnfortunately, Ebay has also eliminated customer phone support; for now, at least, there is a chat, slow though it may be, you still get to deal with a human being, but on any other site, for example the Post Office, whether by chat or by phone you only deal with a digital operator, utterly useless, and it’s only going to get worse, poor us! As for your problem, it’s clearly a scammer and his reply proves it. I recommend contacting Ebay again and providing the evidence (if you haven’t already) of the attempted scam; as for filing a report, it’s a waste of time and it wouldn’t even be an intimidating move toward the buyer, given that we’ve understood what sort of person he is.

·3 weeks ago · EditedWhat do I think about it.......what I've thought for years, since on Ebay it's been like this for years....... Ebay, since it can't determine who's right and who's wrong between seller and buyer, tends to side with the buyer (honest or not-so-honest as they may be..............), you can still report the buyer to Ebay (which is still a good thing to do even if it may not be of much use right away.....) ;
I also want to remind you that, if you want, you can take other routes (you have the buyer's first name, last name, address.....) and you can take action (such as filing a complaint with the public safety authorities) to have the conduct of buyers considered suspicious checked.......
