Hello @daxsisko
The DAC7 Directive mainly concerns online platforms, including eBay, that facilitate sales to consumers. However, the directive is mainly aimed at sellers who sell goods or services online to consumers in the European Union (EU), including both professional sellers and private sellers.
You can find more details here: DAC7 Directive and the platform tax transparency law

·3 years agogood morning and thanks for the clarification, which may also be useful to other community users
if I may, I have another question:
those who, back then, had already entered their tax code (since, for those who sell and create listings, it was already mandatory from 2021, that is, since eBay introduced mandatory payment management) will still receive the email that has arrived once 30 sold transactions have been reached and/or when sales exceed 2000 eur, or will they receive the communication directly in January 2024 that the data has been transmitted to the German tax authority (and that authority will then share it with the competent tax authority, for example Italy)?
I ask because, after reading what is reported at the indicated link, it is not very clear
thanks again for your attention

Hello @daxsisko
If you have already entered your tax ID number in your eBay account, you will only be notified if you exceed the thresholds of 30 transactions or 2000 euros in sales proceeds.
Once the thresholds are exceeded, eBay will send a notification by email to the address linked to your eBay account by January 31 of the following year. For example, if you exceed the sales thresholds in 2023, you will receive a notification by January 31, 2024.
Please note that, regardless of the sales thresholds, eBay will transmit the collected tax information to the competent tax authorities starting in January 2024, as required by DAC7 regulations.
Best regards,

·3 years agoFor me, the situation that will arise in January 2024 will most likely be this:
eBay account number 1 corresponding to my tax code: annual sales 15 total sales 1000 euros.
eBay account number 2 corresponding to my tax code: annual sales 25 total sales 990 euros.
Account on another marketplace ABC with my tax code: annual sales 20 total sales 1800 euros.
Account on another marketplace XYZ with my tax code: annual sales 25 total sales 1900 euros.
Total annual sales 85, total sales 5690
The tax agency, in connection with my tax code, will have recorded exactly 85 sales for 5690 euros that were sent by the respective online sales platforms.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoFor me, this necessary addition will also be included: eBay account no. 1 with 15 total sales in a year, 1000 euros
+ average shipping costs of 6 euros per capita, total 90 euros, total 1090 euros. To be added to every
other account. Plus 5 euros withheld for each sale that does not go through, to be considered as safeguarding
the image of the marketplace in question. Everything subject to further changes starting from March 2024, at the same time as other revolutionary European initiatives. How I envy perfidious Albion.

·3 years ago👌Great clarifications: this confirms that the 2 conditions are not complementary, in the sense that only one of the two needs to be met: 30 sales or 2,000 euros.

·3 years agoquestion for the eBay Team: does the DAC7 directive apply only to professionals (since the link leads to the eBay Professionals page) or does it also apply to private sellers (because if you click it and follow the link, it doesn’t show anything)?
thanks for your attention and I hope for a reply, since the topic concerns eBay users in general
