Good evening to the community.I would like to ask you a question.I have just won an international auction, specifically from the United Kingdom.The shipment is handled by the eBay International Shipping Program, I also noticed that the cost changed as the bids increased.All in all, I’m fine with the total including import fees.I’m attaching a screenshot of the final calculation, which indicates that at the time of delivery I don’t need to add anything else because everything is already paid.Should I expect any surprises?

·3 years agoas said by the person before me, when buying outside the EU there is always a risk (and usually it increases for items that do not pass “unnoticed”);
as Heavenwelking wrote, though, it’s always better to collect it (since refusing the parcel is not “looked upon favorably” by the E-bay rules) and then possibly contact E-bay support to check whether you may be entitled to a refund (partial or full) of the amount paid extra at the time of arrival

Shipping costs increase as the item’s cost increases due to the greater risk in case of loss/damage.
Costs related to customs also increase as the item’s cost increases.
It’s hard to give a “certain” answer to your question, since every shipment is a world of its own.
In theory, you shouldn’t have to pay anything when the item is received.
In practice, additional costs may be requested from you.
If that happens, I advise you to pay what is due, collect the item, and ask for a receipt or something else proving that you had to pay that amount.
Then, through eBay, it will be possible to request a reversal of any double taxation.
You should never make the mistake of refusing to pay the courier and therefore giving up the item by having it sent back to the sender.
Doing so risks losing both the item and the money spent.
