That will be a surprise... you don't pay the duties in advance but on delivery, and saying exactly how much they will amount to is impossible, always keep a figure of 260/270 € in mind.
Sure... they're import fees (you can read about them further down)... basically that item, with shipping and customs, will cost you €256... but it's likely you'll have to pay something else on delivery... unfortunately there's no way to know.
Have patience, it clearly says: "no additional cost on delivery" so at the time of ordering I already pay everything, duties, VAT and shipping costs. Maybe Ebay writes misleading things?

In reference to the ebay global shipping program service for purchases coming from the UK or USA, I just replied to your question in the other post.
It is rather difficult for that to happen (to be charged double tax using this service), but of course it is not impossible.
In these cases, if you have documentation showing that you paid money at the time of delivery, by contacting ebay support you can obtain a refund through a specific procedure.

OP3 years agoSome time ago I bought a magnetic loop in China, I didn’t pay customs duties or anything else, how come?

·3 years agoSometimes it happens that large, well-organized sellers ship from European warehouses, so the items arrive right away and without import fees.
Contact the seller directly and have them give you an estimate of the import costs you will have to bear.
Best regards.

OP3 years agoIf I buy in Germany, there are no duties, right?
heavenwelkin
·3 years agoRight, if you buy in Germany you don't have to pay any import taxes.

OP3 years agoNot even VAT?
marioelegio
·3 years agoVAT is already included in the price.
In very special cases (which depend solely on the seller), they might ask you for the difference between Italian VAT (22%) and German VAT (20%).

·3 years agoYes, calculate a good 25 - 26 % on the total paid.
On 170 euros, that's about 45 euros.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoWould it cost more from China?
marioelegio
·3 years agoChina and the UK are always non-EU countries.
There may be specific agreements on tariffs, but the other taxes do not change.

·3 years agoNo, from China to Italy it costs roughly 25 - 26% of the purchase price you paid.

·3 years agoOn ebay you can also find the supposed delivery date written... how often is it accurate?
So ebay writes misleading things?
Unfortunately ebay can't know in the finest detail how a delivery is handled in every nation in the world!
Best regards.
