Buying parts on Ebay.co.uk information on payment of customs fees
Good afternoon everyone, I wanted some info regarding purchases made on eBay UK. I attached a screenshot of the total in pounds to pay; we're around €55, and from what I've read there shouldn't be any additional fees to pay since it's specified. Has anyone already happened to make purchases like this? I look forward to your replies, thanks

OP2 years agoHi Mario, I logged in to eBay UK because on the Italian one it wouldn’t show me the total, and it was making me buy my car parts separately. I then contacted customer support and they told me to proceed this way on the UK site and then ask Italian customs for info on the charges. Reading the last screen before paying, it says they’re included — have you ever gone through a purchase on the UK one?

·2 years agoI’m afraid you bought as an English user, so you don’t have any charges in the UK.
Now, importing your items into Italy, things could change.
If, compared to the listing, the price of your items hasn’t increased by 22% at checkout, they’ll ask you to pay VAT. Then there could also be customs fees (between 5 and 20 euros depending on the courier).

OP2 years agoMario, I still haven’t made the payment, I provided the shipping address in Italy and I contacted the seller about it, but they still haven’t replied to me. What do you advise?

·2 years agoProbably at the time of payment they will apply 22% VAT to you.
But that doesn’t depend on eBay; you’d pay it anyway if you buy anything in a non-EU country.
As for customs charges, keep in mind that by combining the shipments, you’ve also significantly reduced these costs.
So if these are items that aren’t otherwise available in the EU (at least not at much higher prices), go ahead.

·2 years agoOn those amounts, you always pay VAT on the payment form at eBay and you probably selected items shipped through the GSP service, that is, with advance payment of customs duties as well.
