Good morning
I bought a phone case shipped from Italy (no foreign currency conversion) and paid for it with PayPal like I’ve done many times.
I was charged on my credit card the €5.99 for the case and then also €1, and when I check my PayPal history I only find the €5.99 for the case, but there’s no trace of the €1 transaction.
I wasn’t able to find any indication in eBay.
Has this happened to any of you? Does anyone know anything?
Thanks a lot for the help, which could also be useful to many other people.

·3 years agoThe same thing just happened to me too. Other times I was charged 0 and then the item disappeared... I imagine it'll be the same here too.. in a few days I'm sure they'll remove it automatically

OP3 years agoI wrote to the bank today and I'm waiting for a response . In the transaction details there was nothing other than Ebay paypal and the date without the time.
Thanks a lot

OP3 years agoChecked in the Ebay statement and Paypal history it is not present; in the credit card transactions the transaction description is identical to that of an Ebay purchase paid with Paypal.
This was the bank's response:

·2 years agoMy BVR bank takes 1.50 euros for every transaction made with PayPal, regardless of the amount spent.
I checked the transactions from the last few years and noticed that it did this even with purchases of a little over one euro. Cloud plans and so on I was paying 150% more for too (2.50 euros instead of 1). I use PayPal for practically all my purchases and to get around the problem I have to use a prepaid card.

That said, credit/debit card payments are never free but are charged to the person receiving the money (see PayPal, which charges 0.35 euros per transaction plus 3.5% in fees, which also covers the costs of credit/debit cards.
So your bank could easily offer you the transaction FREE because it is already paid for/covered by the person receiving the money.
If your bank charges you 1.50 euros for every transaction, in my opinion it would be better to change banks because in most banks this service is FREE.
Kind regards.
