We’re at the finish line with yet another increase in Poste Italiane’s universal postal services.In the last 10 years, a simple registered letter weighing 20g (1 A4 sheet in a 220x110mm envelope) has gone from 4.50 euros, if I recall correctly, to the current 5.60, which will become 5.80 from July 24.Inflation is one thing, of course, and it is anyway decreasing, albeit slowly, after the repeated interest rate hikes carried out by the ECB, but I think these increases are unjustified, since over the last 10 years, even though total inflation has settled at around 10%, the fare for the above-mentioned registered letter should today have been at most 5 euros, or more precisely 4.95 = 4.50 + 0.45 (10%).Looks like everyone is taking advantage of this a bit under the excuse of inflation; if inflation were to come back down thanks to ECB measures, would the increases come back down too? 🤔 No, I really don’t think so! 😠 And the thing that’s most annoying is that we’re not talking about private services but universal ones entrusted to Poste Italiane by the State. 😤I hope this post is useful to some forum user who uses Poste IT, has an upcoming shipment to make, and prompts them to send it quickly so they can avoid, at least for these remaining 9 days, the increases.I’m attaching a screenshot with the increases.
