Dear eBay, why doesn't the option "item not as described" exist?

Among all the options listed, there is no option: "item does not conform to the purchase request". I bought one item and received a different one of the same type. So the complaint process is not immediate. In fact, if I choose to return it, I will have to wait for the seller to receive the goods and then approve the refund. Ergo, I could return it without receiving the refund. Also, if the mistake is not the buyer's, why should the buyer have to bear the cost of the return?

There aren’t any marketplaces (including Amazon) that let a buyer get a refund for a return that wasn’t sent back. (that would be the paradise of otherwise dishonest buyers) 🤣😂.

If you open a complaint for an item not as described, the return shipping costs are the seller’s responsibility.

I would add... and the seller could refund you without having the item returned...

These are the rules of eBay and of every marketplace... if you want a refund, you have to return the item, and for the return reason the shipping cost will have to be borne either by the seller or by the buyer... in your case the seller, if the item is not as described, and the refund is guaranteed, just read the rules and follow the correct procedures carefully.
