Courier code item return not registrable

I’m noticing a curious bug, namely the inability to enter the return parcel tracking code provided directly by the seller. The courier is GLS and the code works perfectly if entered on the GLS website, while it comes up empty if I try to enter it in the dedicated page box on eBay (any browser and also via the app).
Reporting the problem to eBay seems tough since there’s no longer the chat/mail option, only having them call me, and I prefer scripta manent...
Known bug or just for GLS?

·11 months agoIn the case of a return for non-conformity where the label is provided by the seller, it’s them who has to enter the tracking info; you can’t do it.
Not entering it is a well-known trick to stop eBay from keeping the return under control and to force the refund.

OP11 months agook. I did it because (see the photo attached to my first reply to MarioElegio) eBay asked me to do it, clearly specifying "get the code from the seller and then enter it".
No big deal in the sense that I’m following the return via GLS and, at worst, there’s that to prove it.

OP11 months agoActually, eBay asked me for it (photo 1) but when I try (photo 2) after sending I go back to the initial page

OP11 months agoHonestly, I don't understand your comment at all. I have no problem following the tracking via GLS (see photo). It just won't accept the entry of the code on the eBay page — without giving me an error, though

OP11 months agoSpoke with eBay customer service and they manually entered the shipping code. I can also confirm that the entry was "missing step required by sender", in fact the notice saying "necessary to complete action" disappeared.
As for the reasons why the system wouldn't accept it, they couldn't explain, but they forwarded a report to the technical department (maybe it's only a problem with GLS)
