Tips on how to lower shipping costs

Good morning everyone. When I put a product up for sale, is it normal that the only courier available for shipping is Poste Italiane? Is there a way to add other couriers, maybe cheaper ones? While I was looking at other users' products, I saw that they can set shipping costs as low as 5 euros, but how is that possible for a package? The shipping costs for my products are all around 12 euros and that seems like a lot to me... I prefer to use tracked and/or insured shipping. What would you recommend I do to lower the shipping costs for my products a bit?

So Poste Italiane offers shipping up to 2kg for 3.90 euro.

What I don't understand is why some sellers add up the shipping costs if then

only one little package arrives ... In my opinion it means they’re taking advantage of it, that is, they make more money

on the items after the first one because, especially in the case of small and not too heavy items, a padded envelope (2.90 with posta1) is more than enough. Basically, the price of the items after the first one is increased by the shipping costs.

For example, some say that the first item costs 3.50 for shipping, then 0.70/0.80 for each additional item in the same order. When you go to the cart it’s never true: the shipping cost for the first item is multiplied by the number of items you ordered.

I think it’s necessary to put in a few stricter rules on shipping costs because there’s no shortage of clever tricksters.
