Good morning everyone, I'm asking for advice on how to safely ship certain types of delicate items with the addition of reliable insurance, specifically vintage electronic items such as radios, VHS players, TVs, etc. If someone can suggest a shipping agency or something else I could use for these shipments, with the Packlink service they don't fall among insurable items, and with Poste Italiane or UPS they cling to excuses like packaging not in compliance when in reality I have always made careful packages, with bubble wrap, rigid cardboard, polystyrene, and rolled and packed paper to cushion the blows; despite this, there are problems with couriers, even with UPS unfortunately.. I welcome advice, thanks to anyone who can help me

·1 year agofrankly, before activating insurance with couriers (which it’s not even clear will actually be applied...... and anyway inevitably make shipping costs go up) ; maybe it’s better to consider that some shipments won’t go through, and factor that in beforehand....... (each person handling it in their own way.... maybe by adding a small markup on all products for sale so as to "spread out" the possible lost income ..... )
obviously if you’re shipping, as a rule, very fragile items (such as glass, for example) maybe it’s worth considering ad hoc couriers.... (the shipping costs though, of course, will rise accordingly..... )

·1 year agoI don’t think it’s just a coincidence that eBay shipping - Packlink has put restrictions on the items you described.

I quote: "4. Antiques and Vintage
Dated 50 years or more, technology dated 20 years or more, vintage items and clothing."
You could try contacting a direct UPS or DHL agency, but the shipping costs plus insurance would be prohibitive; maybe you’d need 40 or 50 euros for an insured shipment.

you are a professional seller, so it is better to use your VAT number to set up a tailored subscription directly with the courier.
To do this, you need to ask each individual carrier what it can offer you.
