International time for the USA - can you help me?
As per the title.
I need to ship a package to the USA and I purchased the "Crono Internazionale" service through the dedicated eBay shipping platform, with home pickup. eBay shipping automatically generated a "customs form" (2 pages) and another 4-page .pdf that includes 4 copies of a label (with barcode) which I assume is the "customs declaration" and a "free export declaration" (in Italian and English).
My first question is: what do I do with all these papers? If I understood correctly, the customs form must be attached in a transparent adhesive pouch on one side of the package. As for the shipping label / customs declaration (assuming that's the correct term), what should I do? I'm referring to this link but I don't really get it, because it says to print "3 copies of the Customs Invoice and 1 copy of the Free Export Declaration"? I have 4 and 2 respectively...
Finally, there's another problem: the customs form generated by eBay based on my data and the buyer's seems incomplete anyway: under receiver information / private person, the National ID field was left blank. Would you recommend asking the buyer for it, or is it not necessary information?

Have you tried searching the forum via Google or via the forum search engine to see if there were similar discussions with similar replies?

if you read carefully, you’ll also find the pdf of the pro forma invoice that you can fill out online too instead of by hand.

OP3 years agoHi, first of all thanks for the reply. I had actually done a search, but obviously I missed that discussion. I think I’ve clarified a few things, but I’d still like to ask for confirmation on the following:
- I put in a transparent envelope 3 copies of the signed customs invoice + 1 front/back photocopy of the CIE (which also contains my tax code) + 1 copy of the Declaration of Free Export
- do I put 1 or all 4 shipping labels with barcode on the front of the package?
- do I need to add anything else?
Also, I still have doubts about the commercial / non-commercial distinction: in my case it’s a sale between two private individuals. What should I choose? Thanks for the help.
