Reduction in Packlink insurance limit - Poste
Good morning everyone.
I have always shipped with packlink and every single parcel has always come with built-in insurance up to a limit of 75 euros. Since Sunday 22/10/2023 every parcel has built-in insurance up to 35.00 euros, having to add increased compensation based on the value of the product. Can you tell me why there has been this change in coverage from 75 to 35 euros? thank you all

·1 year agoanyway, regardless, check carefully what you ship if it can be insured; otherwise they nitpick and don't reimburse, so the advice is not to spend money on insurance

·1 year agoIf a parcel gets lost or stolen, insurance (in general) is certainly more useful to have than not to have.
Then ebay-packlink offer it free up to 35 euros (if I remember correctly), so.......
The issue is more complex if the broker (whoever it is) requires a series of conditions and limitations to cover the shipment, and above all requires the buyer’s cooperation, who:
- must keep all packaging, keep the labels, take photos, make statements, provide various documents and cooperate with the seller
- be very patient, available, and be smart (possibly able to follow the instructions given by the seller).
So you have to carefully weigh the pros and cons because there is the risk of involving the buyer and wasting their time by, for example, dragging them into 15 days of back-and-forth via ticket with support and then the claim gets rejected for some reason....
Kind regards.

OP2 years agobefore, with Euro 5.53, I had insurance coverage of euro 75.
now, with Euro 5.53, I have coverage of euro 35.
I know I can increase the compensation, but it’s an extra cost.
but on the Poste and Packlink portal I can’t find anything about this increase

·2 years agoit seems pretty obvious to me that something has changed on a commercial level: anyway, only Packlink can give you the answer (provided they do....) or possibly Poste Italiane (if something has changed unilaterally on their side and consequently also with the related partners / customers, including Packlink)

·2 years agoThen forgive me, because I was referring to the rates for private individuals. You obviously use the rates for VAT number holders, so if they reduced the insurance coverage at the same price in order not to increase the service cost, they reduced the insurance. But if I’m not mistaken, other shipping brokers basically don’t offer any insurance coverage, which has to be paid separately.
If you can find something better, great; otherwise you have to adapt.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoThe prices for poste delivery web were a couple of euros higher for the option with delivery to the post office.
Now it costs from 5.11 euros with 35 euros of insurance instead of 75 euros.
Anyway, there should be the option where you can increase the parcel’s insurance coverage by paying an extra amount proportional to how much you want to insure.
Best regards.
