Hello everyone, I’m laying out my situation hoping for some advice.Following some refunds made between September and October 2025, I found myself with a debt to eBay of €231.69 (funds that had been credited to me but that were supposed to be returned to cover customer refunds). Due to various unexpected personal expenses, I wasn’t able to settle the amount right away.Recently I was contacted by a debt collection agency (Fire S.p.A.) and later by a law firm (Effe Legal) on behalf of eBay. I was asked to pay €246.69, that is, the original principal plus €15 in late fees. Yesterday, February 25, I decided to close the matter. To be safe, instead of using the IBAN provided in the law firm’s letter, I preferred to pay directly from the eBay App in the “Payments” section. However, within eBay the amount requested was the original €231.69 (without the extra €15). My questions are:Is it normal that the €15 in fees mentioned by the external agency did not appear on eBay? Having paid the principal directly to eBay, can I consider myself sorted?Do I need to send proof of payment to the agency myself (as suggested in their letter), or is the communication between eBay and the agency automatic? I’d rather avoid moralizing comments about payment timing; everyone handles their difficulties however they can. I’m only interested in understanding whether the procedure I followed is correct to close the matter for good.Thanks to anyone who can help me.
