Is it technically possible to carry out a scam using Posta 1 from Poste Italiane?
I am gathering proof and evidence of the possibility of carrying out a scam to the detriment of buyers using the Poste Italiane Posta 1 service. Anyone with information and/or who has not received a delivery that Poste Italiane instead marks as delivered should contact me.
Obviously no refund from Poste Italiane or from the seller or from eBay despite the "Customer Guarantee":

·2 years agoYou need to be careful, if the code shows as delivered and you haven't received anything, the seller has sent a code from another shipment... I think somehow they manage to get into the databases and identify shipments that are similar by date and city. I managed to resolve it by proving to PayPal that the code didn't have my sender but rather that of a neighbor, and I got the refund. ALWAYS OPEN A DISPUTE WITH PAYPAL not with EBAY.

I think that the folks at PayPal simply wanted to do you a favor to avoid a problematic user opening a chargeback request after their refusal to refund.
So I wouldn't take it as a real guide or loophole on how to get out of these situations unscathed.
There are users who, for a few cents, are capable of causing a huge mess.
Which then usually sellers almost always also offer other shipping options such as courier or registered mail.
You buy an item on eBay and it gets delivered to your neighbors where the seller had entered your neighbors' address?
Posta1 only lets you see the city and province of delivery (for example AVERSA (CE) ) so the neighbor story doesn't hold up.
There was a time when eBay didn't allow the seller to change shipping codes once entered (I don't know if that's still possible) and I don't know if there is a limitation when entering two identical tracking numbers, where in theory a seller with a large volume of sales could try to make a Posta1 shipping code for ROMA or MILANO belonging to another buyer appear.
Kind regards.

PS: at the end of 2023 I didn’t follow the forum, but in my opinion this post deserved to be dug up...... let’s see if he still reads/posts ( ...as of today this is his only post here on the community... )

·3 years agoHello, my name is Mario. I bought a spare part (steering lock motor) on eBay that arrived regularly with a package traceable in all its movements. Taken straight to the workshop, it was realized that the worn part was not the piece that had arrived, but the part where this piece acted was worn out.
I immediately contact the seller saying that I will return the spare part for a refund because it was not useful and had just been unpacked. The seller contacts me back asking what exactly I needed. After I explain the situation, he tells me to explain it in a message on eBay and they will send me the part, as long as I do not continue with the return request. That is what happened: in about half an hour they send me the tracking for the package that had already been shipped to me.
The next day at 10 the package appeared as delivered. I call home, where they tell me that no package has arrived, so I call the post office, where I am told that the shipping type is poste1, where only the delivery is notified and not all the steps. They could very well have shipped anything to their own address and it would show as delivered. What's more, with poste1 there isn't even a need for a signature upon delivery.
I understand that I had been fooled and I open a dispute on eBay, which sides with the seller. I appeal explaining the matter better and eBay still sides with the seller, so I cannot return the item for a refund. I will no longer buy on eBay because the buyer is not well protected against scams.

·3 years agoAllow me to say, if you don't follow eBay's rules and do things your own way, there's no point complaining.
You should have kept the return request open until the problem was solved, and if necessary asked eBay to intervene.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoHello Mario
Buying on ebay is very easy.
Selling on ebay through the app is also very easy.
But when problems arise like the ones you described, you need to know how the site works, and its procedures (which must be followed to the letter).
The seller who asks you to close the return request is a seller who is trying to play tricks.
If you closed the return request, you can no longer reopen it and you've lost the buyer protection offered by ebay.
Then another thing about poste1: it's not possible for the seller to ship to himself because when you check the delivery result the municipality and province are shown, so if you don't live in the same municipality as the seller, I'd say he can't bluff on this point.
Next time, if you have any doubts, write on the forum or contact ebay support before taking actions whose workings you don't know well.
Best regards.

·2 years agoOn the contrary, it's exactly the opposite, dear user! In your case, you made a mistake.... on your part, so you should blame only yourself. Regards.

·3 years agoJust happened to me too, I chose shipping with "other courier 48 hours" but the seller used Posta 1 pro for an item worth more than 150 euros. The shipment shows as delivered with a time too, but nothing arrived for me. I opened a dispute with PayPal specifying that the condo building recordings clearly show that the postman doesn’t deliver anything to my mailbox or nearby. Poste has already rejected my refund. We’re waiting for PayPal, and if the outcome is negative I don’t know what to do... Someone told me to sue Poste Italiane but their policy for this shipment is clear. The seller has proof of delivery so what am I supposed to do??

·3 years agoGood morning
If you chose shipping with a courier, the seller should have shipped with the courier.
If the seller preferred (to save a few euros) to ship with posta1, you need to open a dispute case with ebay
https://www.ebay.it/help/ip?topicId=4042
You need to say that you asked for and paid for a courier, the seller chose posta1 and the item did not arrive.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoYou should have opened a dispute on eBay, not with PayPal.
Anyway, now let PayPal know about the situation and see what they say.
Regarding Poste1 and the fact that the recordings show no mail carrier, I recommend waiting a few more days.
Sometimes the delivery confirmation codes get scanned at the post office and then the items are delivered.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoI was just scammed with posta 1 pro. I'm waiting for the outcome with PayPal for the dispute with the seller, but reading here I think I have little hope. Bought a key for a Fiat Punto for 58 euros. The posta 1 pro shipment shows as delivered to a town next to mine, the seller was already not very clear or transparent from the start.

·2 years agoWhich seller did I buy from? The same thing happened to me with a car key. I hope it’s not a bad habit.

·2 years agoHello, the same thing happened to me for a car key from the seller "chiavetelecomando"

·2 years agoPost 1 is an UNTRACKED shipment.
The only thing you can possibly see is the delivery outcome.
The mail carrier COULD scan the code the day before or that same morning at the post office instead of doing it at the time of delivery.
Also, the mail carrier is not obliged to ring the doorbell or hand over the envelope in person, but may decide to leave it in the mailbox or near it, leaving it unattended for a number of hours/days.
In CONCLUSION, Post 1 is an economical and fast shipping method, but it is not the equivalent of a tracked shipment.
If the delivery outcome shows that the envelope was delivered, the responsibility falls entirely on the buyer.
So weigh the risks / benefits carefully before relying on this type of shipping.
Best regards.
