eBay + Packlink = everything okay until ... WATCH OUT!
Summary: The discussion revolves around concerns and warnings about using eBay and Packlink. Several participants, including c64mk2, share experiences and respond to questions, drawing attention to potential issues. Despite the central topic, the conversation remains lacking in specific details.
... until there are problems.
- I ship and insure it (for 380 euros) so also with additional insurance, an item through the shipping manager (Packlink)
- the package arrives visibly damaged and punctured, so much so that the buyer signs the receipt 'with reservation pending inspection'
- the contents are clearly visibly damaged and no longer working
- on the eBay-Packlink shipping manager page the package is still 'awaiting delivery' so I cannot open the ticket, I think it's a site delay and wait ...
- the status 'awaiting delivery' persists so much so that in the following days I decide to open a ticket to report the problem
- later they resolve the problem for me and ask me for feedback on it
- I open the damage ticket sending all the photos and the 'proof of value' (which is well over the 380 euros)
- conclusion: they close the ticket on me WITHOUT any refund because I did not respect the deadline between the actual receipt of the package and the opening of the ticket of 8 days.
- I point out that the delay is not due to me but to an error/lack of update on their site. I send the relevant screenshots of the site and the relevant 'statuses' and ask for a 'review' of the case, they reopen the case for a few hours but then close it again immediately for the same reason 'deadline expired'.
Packlink has no phone number, no email, nothing at all, only the (written) contact related to the shipped item where, if the status changes to 'resolved' (only for them!) the matter is closed!
I call eBay but they tell me that Packlink is one of their partners but on which they have no influence (!)
Final status (mine): I lost 380 euros, I have to repair the item, or rather, replace the item for the buyer, so another more or less the value of the item in euros, I paid the shipping for the return!
Total disappointment and a 'heavy' outlay. Honestly, after more than 1300 transactions, I think the time has come to abandon this platform and the related shipping manager! Sales support = ZERO! So? STOP eBay + Packlink.
P.S.: one last thing, out of curiosity I go to check my list of shipments on Packlink and many shipments that regularly arrived are still 'in delivery', among which, coincidentally, some also have additional insurance! I'm holding back from saying what I really think ...

·2 months agoThis happened to me only once with a dishonest customer, package shipped with a padded mailing envelope. They were LED rings for cars that the same person had already bought more than a year earlier. The customer contacts me saying the product arrived damaged, obviously he had cut the wires and the LED rings were blackened in certain areas (sign of prolonged use), while the most fragile protective part was intact, so he passed off photos of the previously purchased and used item saying it was damaged to get the refund.... I say nothing and have them send me more photos of the package so I can send them to Packlink and open the claim, package intact just opened .. Packlink replies that since it’s not a box but a padded envelope they can’t reimburse me, so money lost, product and shipping paid. Customer obviously blacklisted ... Otherwise I’ve always been fine, when the courier loses a package after about 15 days that I open a claim they refund immediately for the value of the product + the funds spent to create the label

·2 months agoVery disappointing experience with Packlink.
After purchasing insured shipping, the package arrived badly crushed and the contents were damaged. I provided photographs of the packaging before shipment, the damaged package, the protective materials used, and the package returned by the recipient.
Initially, the claim was rejected on the grounds that the item fell under restricted articles. Later, after I disputed that, the reason changed and the packaging was challenged.
Despite all the documentation provided, Packlink rejected the refund, placing responsibility on the sender. After sending additional evidence and requesting a review, I no longer received any response and the case is still open.
My impression is that, in the event of damage, getting an insured shipment recognized is much more difficult than one would expect.

·2 months agoI had only replied to one of your posts, and I don't know whether, besides searching for discussions related to Packlink, you also read the content of these discussions.
In the Packlink discussions, the kind of problem you experienced has been shared by other users.

·6 months agopacklink and eBay platform is also to blame, which by now is a real piece of s**t.
the support people do more damage than anything else, you ask for a return to sender and they disappear, they don’t make reports to the carriers, you can’t contact the carrier directly to unblock or sort out a shipment.
If they open a chargeback from PAYPAL you wait for the second coming of the Virgin Mary on eBay where you can’t argue back or do anything, and from there they scam you after 6 months.
I personally quit after they made me lose 600 euros in 2 months between items and sales.
better to stay on ETSY

·11 months agoBeware that this company stores its customers’ credit card data, including expiration dates and CVC, to apply chargebacks for small amounts and steal from the customers themselves! They are not based in Italy, nor do they have legal representation, much less a certified email address, of course.
Those who write on their behalf are bots or lackeys based in Spain.
Apparently, for peanuts, any job will do, even thieving...

·11 months agoLet me give you a bit of information...
How can Packlink automatically charge your credit card?
Answer: Through an implicit authorization that is included in their Terms and Conditions.
When you complete a purchase on Packlink, you also accept a clause that basically says:
"You agree that any differences in weight, dimensions, or other additional costs communicated by the courier may be charged to the same payment method used for the purchase."
Even if you do not manually save the card in the Packlink profile, the authorization for deferred payment is considered an integral part of the sales contract.
These systems / mechanisms are INSIDIOUS because the user is almost never aware of which clauses they are accepting when finalizing the purchase via credit card or PayPal payment.
But if you want to have the lowest shipping rates available to a private seller, these are the terms of the service.

·1 year agono, they don’t have a certified email, they’re in liquidation and they scam

·1 year agoWho were you quoting?
Who told you that Packlink is in LIQUIDATION?
Do you have direct information or is your imagination your reliable source?
Read below:
https://www.sevenpress.com/auctane-acquisisce-packlink-la-piattaforma-leader-nelle-spedizioni-a-livello-europeo/2021/12/23/387974/
Packlink does not appear to be in liquidation, there are no official communications or authoritative sources indicating structural financial problems or insolvency proceedings. The company is part of the Auctane group, which acquired it in December 2021
The Auctane group and eBay are not directly connected at the corporate or ownership level, but there are some operational and commercial ties, especially related to logistics and shipping for online sellers.
Here's the full picture:
Who is Auctane?
Auctane is an American holding company specializing in software and services for e-commerce shipping and logistics. It owns various well-known brands among online sellers, including:
ShipStation
Stamps.com
Endicia
Packlink (acquired in 2021)
Metapack
ShippingEasy
ShipEngine
It is part of the Thoma Bravo group, a large American private equity firm.

·1 year agoI sold an automotive window switch on December 18, 2024; it weighed less than 400 grams with the entire package. It was delivered to BRT on Dec. 19. On December 20, it was delivered on January 16, 2025. Packling took €6.83 from my Postepay without authorization, sending me an email claiming that BRT had asked for a difference because the package weighed 11 KILOGRAMS. When I contacted BRT, they replied that they had not asked Packling for any difference because the weight was correct, as were the dimensions. Normally you can't get in touch with them بأي way and they don't respond... what can I say, they behaved like thieving scoundrels.

·1 year agoI don't believe this statement for various reasons, including:
A call center does not provide this information
You are not the sender of the shipment, so you cannot have this information.
Unfortunately, sometimes there are discrepancies between weights and measurements due to human error.
This doesn't happen only with packlink; if you go on trustpilot and read the reviews of other brokers, there are the famous DIFFERENCES.
Sometimes caused by sneaky buyers, sometimes by the courier's mistakes.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoGood morning, I’ve had a different problem with packlink, shipment sent on 24/06/2024 and stuck since 27/06/2024. Today is 28/07/2024 and after providing a ton of documents and filing a loss report with the Carabinieri, no response.
Everything is silent and I think that from this moment the only thing left is to leave terrible reviews everywhere about this DIS-service postal service, a real piece of crap with no one available for a phone contact, only emails with a probable BOT that always gives the same answers.
By now we’re down to communications from me via PEC and the next step when I get back from vacation will be legal action against them.

·2 years agoAside from your rant about a problem with a shipment, the rest isn’t very clear about what happened.
Did you order a shipment with ebay spedizioni by packlink?
Was the shipment domestic or international?
Which courier did you choose?
Did the courier come to pick up the parcel and/or did you take the parcel to a drop-off center?
Was the shipment insured?
Did you open a support ticket through spedizioni.ebay.it within the required time and in the required way?
Because if you do things outside the expected procedures, then it’s normal that packlink doesn’t take you into ACCOUNT and follows precise rules / instructions.
Legal action against packlink, where maybe poste italiane lost the parcel and where you did not follow the assistance procedures required by the help/support protocol.
Good luck.
Best regards.

·2 years agoapart from the fact that in the post it is not clear what the problem with Packlink is (which, moreover, is not the courier.....): but with this account there is no recent sale recorded..... (maybe canceled or fully refunded after a dispute? )
of course if a timeshare was shipped...... (see listings........)

·1 year agohi, I'm also having a problem with packlink, would you happen to have their certified email? thanks a lot
heavenwelkin
·1 year agoIf you have a problem with packlink, I recommend sending them a support ticket through the dedicated function.
If you purchased a shipping label, you can go to the order details and open a support ticket.
the site is spedizioni.ebay.it
If you need more specific assistance, try making a request directly to packlink through the site packlink.it
Kind regards

·2 years agoThey’re a bunch of crooks, they find every possible excuse to avoid the refund. Happened to me recently. They should go under badly, they’d deserve a class action, also because they have the habit that, on a sample basis, they decide to rip people off by inventing excessive dimensions and/or weight, holding the money from the account even months later.
