eBay shipping
Why is it that when I choose delivery through eBay shipping with Packlink, after buying the label, I can’t get the customer code? If instead I buy the shipping directly from the Packlink site, they send me the customer code.
Hi everyone, I’m a private seller. Lately, it often happens that delivery doesn’t go through because of the wrong address. Because of buyers, who aren’t able to enter their own address.
Just today it happened to me, with an amazing buyer. I asked them to follow the link from BRT with the BRT PIN to change the address because the house number is wrong. And they literally replied that the courier has to come out looking for it, ask the neighbors, and call them..
On top of that they ask me for a refund, because I’m not having their address corrected?????????
If I had that customer code or BRT PIN I could do it, but....

·2 years agoFirst of all, a bit of clarity on the shipping numbers.
- The tracking number is the one that lets you "follow" the parcel during its journey (in other words, the shipment number...). The fact that for BRT there are at least three of them at the same time (namely parcel label number, shipment number, and sender reference) is a pretty unique case...
- The "customer code" number is unique and is assigned to Packlink as the "real" sender of the shipment: Packlink actually sends BRT to your home to pick up the parcel, but it is the "true" sender (also because it is the one that pays BRT...).
- The release code is a code that allows (exactly..) the release of the parcel in case of address inconsistencies and/or failed delivery. With some couriers these operations are subject to a fee: that is why brokers do not provide it and act as an intermediary if needed.

With the same pin, he could change the delivery address but you can’t!

@@larryz0 When the package comes back, you’ll refund it by deducting shipping costs and fees. The mistake is his, not yours.

OP2 years agoEvery time the courier (in this case brt) receives shipment information. If there is a phone number in the profile, before making the delivery it sends a notice by email and also to the phone via SMS.
And the buyer has received the PIN, but he doesn’t want to do anything. Neither change the house number, nor pick it up from the branch. Nothing.

OP2 years agoExactly. But he doesn't want to do it, according to him, the courier has to get out of the car and look for it all along the avenue. Or call him by phone. Even though I explained to him that the phone number is only needed to receive the BRT pin and shipment status updates

If from tracking it turns out:
- Wrong address
- incomplete address
- recipient absent
The responsibility falls on the buyer, who has gotten too comfortable thinking the world would come to meet him......
Anyway, if you can, try to avoid the package being sent back to the sender because then you still have to refund the cost of the item to the buyer......
Better to make sure it gets delivered to him. 👍
Kind regards.
