Ebay shipping, shipping manager, Packlink new shipping method with BRT

Summary: The discussion seems to focus on the topic of shipping options on eBay, specifically mentioning the use of the shipping manager and the new shipping method with BRT via Packlink. However, all the content is marked as 'None', indicating that the discussion lacks any additional information about the development of the topic or the exchanges between the participants.

    Hello everyone in the forum.

I’m starting this discussion because, as a private seller on eBay who uses the integrated shipping service "ebay spedizioni" by packlink

    I’ve noticed that:

For the Poste Delivery Standard service (the one where the SDA courier comes to your home to pick up the parcel) it no longer guarantees delivery times worth mentioning like SDA used to (which were on average 24/48 hours, excluding islands and remote areas).

In fact, nowadays it almost always happens that after SDA picks it up, the parcel is handled through the postal office network, stretching and sometimes doubling or tripling the estimated delivery times.

With all the after-sales issues that you can well imagine.

I understand that this problem isn’t solved by changing broker and using another shipping broker and buying a similar service managed by the SDA / Poste Italiane group.

I don’t know if direct SDA shipments --> SDA handling --> SDA delivery still exist, as they did until some time ago, at favorable prices.

So I’m looking for a solution with average delivery times like it used to be with SDA (24/48 working hours) at a similar price.

I’ve noticed that recently the eBay shipping manager has shown the service with delivery to a pickup point with BRT shipments.

    sshot-963.jpg

This service would cost 4.27 euro + VAT = 5.22 euro (up to 2 kg), with insurance up to 35 euro included and two free delivery attempts.

Delivery is made to the buyer’s home, so no pickup points.

The only question mark concerns handing it over to a BRT pickup point.

As far as I know, you leave the parcels there and no receipt of delivery is issued (but this now also happens with the courier who comes to pick up the parcel at home).

So you need to choose / find a pickup point that does this for a living and not as an extra side job in spare time to make a few more euros at the end of the day, and that is serious and reliable.

From this point of view, I have available in my area a shipping center that only does this for a living, and works with several couriers, to whom I generally already entrust UPS parcels.

Does anyone here already use it?

    How is it?

    What do you think?

PACKAGE dropped off yesterday morning ( Monday 2 October 2023) at 9:00 at the Fermopoint.

The buyer's address is about 800 km from my home.

BRT delivery took place the following day as visible from the tracking.

    Shipping cost 5.22 euros.

    Best regards.

No, I just tried it and the price is still the same. A price this high may be due to the destination, which could be in one of the higher-priced zones.

Rurigokou thank you so much for the reply!

Unfortunately I tried too - same result, BRT comes out at 18.45 euros.

The thing is that the user is buying from me for the second time and I shipped his 1.5Kg order (from 16.09.2023) for 5.22, but the pickup from home cost 0.44. Now the weight is under 1Kg and I expected to have to pay 5.22 + 0.29.

Now not only do I have to choose the post office option at 6.87, but I also have to go to the office, which is 14km away. I feel so ripped off...

Just out of curiosity, how did you do the simulation? I try to generate the label from the order page. Do I maybe need to go into the Packlink site? Would that change anything?

Rurigocou, thanks again a lot! In the end this is what I did, I ordered the label directly from the site, but the problem was there and I shipped with the post office (with the trip and everything).

I also tried duplicating the labels of all the orders fulfilled so far and was pleasantly able to see that the rates to everywhere were the ones already used.

But here’s how things stand with BRT at the moment for Sicily.

    The order from 16.09.2023

    btr.JPG

    Yesterday’s order 03.10.2023 (simulation)

    duppl.JPG

In conclusion, it seems that this destination has been subject to an increase. In conclusion, sadly it seems to me that I will necessarily have to change the prices of my listings with "Free shipping".  I welcome any advice on the matter.

Guys, is it possible that BRT just raised its prices? I’m trying to generate a label for 5.22(1Kg), and it shows that I have to pay over 18.00 euros.😮

    Good evening atana_it2015

The shipping manager for a private individual who makes occasional sales and not at volume offers shipping rates generally among the cheapest.

If, from your simulations, you find rates that are not convenient for various reasons, it would be a good idea to take a look at an alternative shipping broker.

Some brokers do not charge extra for the islands and others are cheaper for remote areas.

It would be worth doing a search on Google and running a few simulations with the brokers you find on the first pages of the results.

    Best regards.

    Good evening Heavenwelkin,
and thanks! My concern was first of all that the increase (by a little more than three times) has really HAPPENED VERY RECENTLY. For this reason I lose BRT for that destination, but undoubtedly for me BRT was the only more convenient option. Because I can have pickup from home, for just a few cents.
For the record, some of the brokers  you mentioned aren't even available in my area, or you can rely on them only in a way that's far too restrictive... like pickup points that are 30-35 km away. That's not how you do it for an order where everything costs 10 euros, shipping included!!! Thank goodness at least on packlink there is still BRT at 5-6 eu  for Italy.🙂

Just to be clear, in my reply post I didn’t mention / name any broker at all, but simply advised checking Google (I’ll add now: entering "cheap courier" as the search keyword to get a list of reliable and inexpensive couriers.)

In Italy not all areas are served equally.

If you found the solution on packlink CLASSIC rather than packlink + ebay, I think it should be reported, since it is ALWAYS packlink that handles shipments on ebay.

It could ALSO be a BUG.

    Kind regards.

    1) it depends on the area, sometimes by entering some ZIP codes the services "DISAPPEAR" because that area is not covered.

    2) it depends on the XYZ courier shipping service, which sometimes for maintenance or other reasons may be temporarily unavailable, so you can try again later or look for another shipping broker.

    Kind regards.

Hi, can you confirm that Bartolini does not issue any receipt when it picks up the package at the address?

By now, none of the couriers I've tried issues a receipt anymore for home pickup.

    DHL doesn't issue one

    BRT doesn't issue one
    SDA doesn't issue one

    UPS doesn't issue one

GLS, up until the last time, still issued one, but it's not a receipt, it's a barcode slip.

It doesn't help to make a copy of the label and have the courier sign it, it has no validity.

Pickup points don't issue a receipt, but at least you get the SMS/Email notification when it's scanned by the pickup point.

    exactly

by now the couriers’ standard practice ( started already before covid, but after that it became much more pronounced...... ) is to just pick up without issuing receipts , anyway even if they sign it at best you get an illegible scribble...........

    same for fermopoints

    Good morning rurigokou

Yes, I’ve experienced these timeframes too, 24/48 hours on average.

You just have to find a SERIOUS fermopoint that is COMMITTED to working WELL.

Keeping in mind that the post office charges 3 euros for the fermoposta service.

The pickup point I go to charges 2 euros for the service when it’s not one of the partnered fermopoint services.

If then some fermopoint decides to offer a poor service because they are paid TOO LITTLE, in my opinion they are making a mistake because no one is forcing them to keep the service active.

    Good morning

    as of today the BRT service with Ebay Spedizioni sucks, whether you choose pickup at the shipping office or drop it off at the FERMO POINT;

    1) if you request parcel pickup, the courier doesn’t show up 90% of the time

    2) if you take it to the FERMO POINT, they pick it up late and the parcel always leaves 3/4 days late

and to top it all off, ebay also counts it as a defect for late shipping.....

I tried calling Ebay Support to point this out, no luck, they hide behind the fact that it’s not their service.....

something different for International shipments with UPS

a different story for International shipments with UPS

Granted, UPS doesn't let just anyone and their dog open a fermopoint (excuse the French), so handing a package over to a UPS point is not the same as handing a package over to the newsstand under your house.

For international shipments UPS has nothing to do with BRT in terms of service quality; on the other hand, UPS was founded as an international courier with direct offices all over the world.

We're talking about an ECONOMICAL shipping service starting from 5.22 euros, where you need to choose a serious and reliable FERMOPOINT because let's be honest, the fermopoint gets something like 25 or 30 cents, and the person dropping off the package at the fermopoint doesn't receive any delivery receipt or an immediate scan of the code, so a fermopoint that doesn't feel like working much could wait for more packages (maybe over several days) before sending the shipments out; after all, no one can certify that you brought the package on day x.

In addition to handing the package over to a serious fermopoint that does a good job, you can ask that the package code be scanned in front of you; if the fermopoint tells you they're busy, you can say that you're happy to wait or, alternatively, you can go to another fermopoint.

Regarding package pickup at home, these are issues reported with pretty much all couriers and not just BRT, but I think that depends on how the various areas are served, and for this you need to speak directly with the courier in case of service failures.

    Kind regards.

Used for the first (and last) time the Bartolini  - DPD service for an international shipment. Result? Damaged package.....money + item + time lost. If the morning shows what the day will be like......

I’ll go back to using the usual Crono Internazionale from Poste Italiane.......I definitely won’t use it anymore for international shipments, only domestic ones, damn them.

International shipments with couriers like UPS, DHL, TNT, Fedex that offer single tracking and single shipment handling thanks to the fact that they are spread out a bit all over the world.

Compared to couriers that offer international shipping where at every border crossing they hand the parcel over to a different courier, where it is very likely that the tracking code is changed too

Two services that seem identical and share the same purpose but in practice work in very different ways, with rather different results and different prices.

My advice (when it comes to delicate and/or expensive parcels) is to rely on a SINGLE courier like the ones listed above, even if that means the shipping cost will be significantly higher.

    Best regards.

I read this just a little while ago online and I think it would be useful to add it to the list of things to check:

quote: (packages stuck at the pickup point)
Hello. Usually to ship packages I use a pickup point under my house (a newsstand). I've never had any problems until today.
Basically, the BRT courier comes to pick up the packages around 2:30 p.m. and since last week the newsstand has been keeping summer hours, closing at 2 p.m. Unfortunately I work in the morning and can't stop by to talk to them. There are packages stuck there that the courier can't pick up.

If the package has been scanned I don't think the pickup point can hand it over to the owner anyway, so it's a good idea to make sure that the pickup point is open during working hours from Monday to Friday, both in the morning and in the afternoon.

    Kind regards.

They must have added it in the last few days because on July 17 I don’t think it was available yet.

After doubts and uncertainties in the first few days, it seems the service has really gotten going...

I dropped off a BRT parcel at a pickup point on July 17 at 10:20, with the email confirming receipt arriving at the same time.

Also on July 17, BRT came to pick it up, and on July 18 (that is, today) the parcel was delivered.

For the moment I can only give this service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, for the low cost and the speed of delivery, let's hope they keep going down this road.

    Best regards.

    I’m adding another tracking code:

    sshot-1040.jpg

Delivery is fast; the only thing I’ve noticed is that in my area, if I hand the parcel over to the fermopoint in the morning at 8:30 / 9:00, opening time, with the code scanned within half an hour, BRT can’t organize pickup the same day, but you have to wait until the next day.

No problem, though, if the parcel is dropped off before the fermopoint closing time and it gets scanned (obviously), pickup happens promptly the next day.

In practice it WOULD SEEM that dropping off the parcel early in the morning would NOT HELP because apparently they WOULD NOT have dynamic pickup updates like, for example, UPS does.

If you are in a big city and the fermopoint had already booked another BRT pickup the day before, then they will also pick up our parcel that we dropped off during the day.

But if you are in a small town where, as a BRT pickup, there is maybe only our parcel, this gets picked up the day after the code is scanned, even if that is done at 9:00 in the morning or at 7:00 in the evening, it is completely irrelevant.

But on this point I am still NOT 100% SURE.

If you like, please leave feedback about it.

    Thanks.

I wanted to add a note about the service.

Unfortunately, it is not easy to judge the BRT service unambiguously with this fermopoint service because it also depends A LOT on which fermopoint you choose.

When you hand over / entrust the parcel to the fermopoint, it is taken and no receipt is issued.

But not only that.....generally the parcel is almost never scanned in our presence but always afterwards.

You could ask the operator to scan the code for us right away in our presence for at least 2 reasons:

Sometimes the operator puts our parcel out of sight and forgets to scan the code (maybe for days) or simply keeps the parcel in sight but realizes that no one comes to pick it up because they forgot to scan the code, and the courier obviously does not come to collect it, causing an inevitable delay..

Sometimes it can happen that the parcel disappears and there is nothing to prove that on day X at time X we went to the fermopoint to entrust our parcel.

So you can ask the fermopoint operator to kindly scan the code in our presence so that at least we are sure that we have entrusted the parcel to the fermopoint and we are sure that the parcel does not suffer delays due to forgetting to register the code for pickup.

I hope it may be useful to someone.

    Kind regards

It doesn't seem bad at all as a delivery timeframe to me; they delivered to you on the same day it arrived at the branch when the packages arrive early in the morning, as should normally happen.

in my opinion, an excellent alternative to Poste Delivery Web or standard.

What’s the point of this post? To have tested the service and written a possibly honest and objective review, which is why I’m giving it the green check to keep it at the top.

Ebay Shipping includes insurance of 75 euros in the price.

If we use another shipping broker and add insurance coverage for the value of 75 euros, we’ll find that on average an extra 3.5 ~ 4 euros is needed.

At the post office, on the other hand, for Poste Delivery Standard the insurance costs 2.58 euros, while for Poste Delivery Express it costs 3 euros more.

So for an insured shipment of 2 or 3 kg, you can easily end up spending even more than 11 euros.

Recently some brokers have discontinued and/or reworked the SDA service with price increases.

Let’s remember that: Since November 1, 2019, following a partial spin-off of the courier’s business branch in favor of Poste Italiane S.p.A.

Recently this BRT service has appeared on ebay shipping, which at the moment certainly doesn’t stand out for speed  but still has its positive sides, including:

    - The particularly advantageous purchase cost that includes insurance.

    - Delivery to a fermopoint saves us from having to be stuck at home or making someone else wait in our place.

    - A faster alternative compared to dropping off the parcel at the post office.

I’d like to remind ebay and packlink that:

    - Buyers want to receive the items they purchased in the shortest possible time. Some buyers may show signs of impatience if delivery times are stretched too much.

    - Sellers are not always willing to spend more for faster shipping, considering that apart from Poste Italiane, GLS, SDA, UPS, DHL and probably also BRT already offer 24/48 working-hour delivery excluding islands and disadvantaged areas without charging any extra, since that is their standard service.

    - In the case of insurance not included, most people would simply accept it. Very likely only in particular cases and upon the buyer’s explicit request would they insure the shipment, fully aware that in many cases insurance does not cover. Therefore, sellers who are already used to taking responsibility for everything would also take on any transport damage, paying particular care and attention during the packaging phase of the item.

So in my opinion you can also offer UNINSURED shipments, the important thing is that they are cheap but above all faster, staying in line with what the various couriers already offer without surcharges, namely delivery in 24/48 hours excluding islands or disadvantaged areas.

    Kind regards.

What do you mean the insurance doesn’t cover it? Do you mean only in case of damage, or also for any possible loss of the package?

There are a ton of restrictions, constraints, strings, and string-little-things to be able to receive compensation on an insured package.

These are the rules for poste delivery web but more or less the other couriers have also aligned themselves.

    Insurance

The sender can insure the value of the transported item (up to a maximum of 3,000 euros), against direct and material damage arising from transport, excluding any indirect damage attributable to delay, loss, tampering, or damage to the package.
For the correct application of the insurance coverage, it is necessary to always indicate on the Waybill the value of the goods shipped and the exact contents: the declared value, in case of loss or tampering, must be proven by suitable fiscal documentation (for example a receipt, fiscal receipt, or other equivalent document).
The insurance service provides for the application of the deductible (10%, with a minimum of 26.00 euros).

    In practice

    - If the value of the goods is less than 26 euros you do not get compensated.

    - If the package gets lost you do not get compensated

    - If the package is tampered with (opened) you do not get compensated

    - If the package is delayed you do not get compensated

    - If the package is externally damaged you do not get compensated.

By direct damage, we mean obvious damage to the item that arrived damaged.

So you will have to prove through documentation the value of the item and the extent of the damage, but not only that.

You will also have to prove that you made proper packaging using suitable packaging materials as specified in the guidelines.

That’s why they ask you to always keep the original packaging with the waybill because they also need to verify this aspect.

It often happens that the buyer has thrown away the packaging, or that the buyer is not cooperative and doesn’t want to waste time during the whole bureaucratic process in which they have to cooperate by providing statements, photos, etc.

For a whole series of reasons, for a seller getting compensation is by no means simple.

And in fact the seller, despite any insurance, often ends up in the position of having to bear the damage himself by refunding the buyer.

Then there is also the issue of “collection with reservation,” which buyers often don’t know about and don’t ask for, and if they do ask for it the couriers refuse or say “ok, I’ll write it on the terminal” but in reality they don’t do it.

For this reason I wrote “incorrectly” that “the insurance doesn’t cover”; in reality it does cover if a whole series of conditions are met.

    Best regards.

Hello, after reading the whole post I decided to try this service too; I usually use GLS and I’ve always had a good experience, but for the convenience of having the BRT drop-off point 100m from the shop I was tempted by this opportunity to save precious time and I entrusted 2 shipments to the aforementioned courier, always through eBay Shipping. I create the label, and when I go to check the approximate delivery time (two domestic deliveries for Northern Italy, no islands) I get an estimated delivery by Tuesday, June 6 for one and Wednesday, June 7 for the other. I hope it’s only an approximate calculation based on my 3-5 day courier shipping rule and not the actual delivery date; with GLS, if I shipped Monday morning for the North, it would be out for delivery Tuesday morning, while for the South Wednesday morning. So heavenwelkin, since you’ve already used the service, how many days did your shipment take to reach its destination, delivery included, excluding Saturday and Sunday of course?

    Regards

This is the email from BRT that arrived to the buyer today, delivery is scheduled for today Monday 29 May.

As soon as the delivery goes through, I’ll attach the final tracking code so you can see the total delivery time.

The service has its reason for existing.

It has several strengths, including the price.

Obviously, since the service is rather economical, they structured everything so that delivery times do not clash with other much more expensive services, otherwise who would buy them anymore?

From this first experience of mine, I notice that delivery times are in line with those of standard delivery, 3 / 4 working days excluding islands and difficult-to-reach areas.

    Kind regards.

    Good morning to you too

Thanks for the valuable info you provided; let's say that 3/4 days for delivery are also acceptable for the price of the service paid. So I can relax about the estimated delivery date, it's just an estimate resulting from my shipping rule. Thanks again, good work and have a good rest of your day.

I can confirm that the delivery went through successfully.

Mine is just an experience based on a shipment that does not make STATISTICS, so if there are other reports regarding delivery times, WELCOME.

In my opinion, since this is a standard route (no islands), the estimate for June 6 ~ 7 seems to me to be a rather conservative estimate (unless it’s a remote area or one that is not perfectly served).

In my opinion it’s 3 or 4 working days, maybe if you want let us know about the delivery times.

I think that from this point of view Poste Italiane’s services are among the most "transparent"; at least you know exactly what the limits of the service are.

Regarding the loss of a package, you need to refer to this article:

Art. 1696 civil code for the calculation of damages in case of loss or damage. “Damage resulting from loss or damage is calculated according to the current price of the transported goods at the place and time of delivery.

The compensation due from the carrier may not exceed one euro for each kilogram of gross weight of the goods lost or damaged in domestic transport and the amount referred to in article 23, paragraph 3, of the Convention on the carriage of goods by road, ratified by law 6 December 1960, no. 1621, and subsequent amendments, in international transport.”

Anyway, the buyer got "slightly" annoyed and pointed out to me that I didn’t hand the package over to BRT but delegated the Fermopoint to hand it over to BRT.

Basically, according to this line of reasoning, I went to the Fermopoint to ship a package and so I delegated the Fermopoint, which wasted my time.

Anyway, I apologized for not meeting his expectations and offered him a refund of 5 euros.

I discovered that the tracking code (or at least I thought so) that BRT sent me by email doesn't work on the official BRT website or, if we prefer, we can say that I wasn't given any tracking code to make it work on the BRT website.

    ...

    If you go here:

    Track shipment (brt.it)

you’ll see that to track a BRT shipment there are 4 different ways:

    • Search with BRTcode
    • Search with shipment number
    • Search with customer parcel ID
    • Search shipment with sender reference

So you just need to figure out which reference they gave you! 😂

At least activate tracking when it arrives at the central warehouse, since the courier doesn’t scan at the pickup point, but once you receive the email "parcel picked up at the pickup point" you’re covered by insurance of €35 or full coverage if you paid the extra fee.

    Good morning onlyjody

This is the latest tracking available

As you can see, the package had arrived at the reference branch on the 26th, losing an additional day that could have been used for delivery.

From experience, I know that when a package arrives at the branch in the morning at 7:48 it is put out for delivery the same day.

In my opinion, the issue is that they want to avoid a service this cheap competing with a more expensive service.

If we read the BRT service charter, they also offer standard deliveries in 24/48 hours, just like most other national couriers.

Anyway, the premise doesn’t seem good, it definitely can’t be considered a 48h shipment, so we can’t list it as such, so we’re still at 72h+ or 3+ days and not specify which courier it is, because eBay identifies it as 1-2 days, which it simply isn’t.

On the official BRT site tracking still doesn't work, so I tried 17track.net

    sshot-972.jpg

    sshot-971.jpg

This one, instead, is the tracking through the spedizioni.ebay.it service

    sshot-970.jpg

    Honestly I didn't understand why

    A) on the official site the tracking doesn't work

    B) Why on 17track it says that it was picked up at 12:00

    C) From the tracking on spedizioni.ebay.it it says there was an issue at 2:00 PM on May 24

What could the issue have been? That BRT didn't come to pick it up yesterday, but only today?

Anyway it gives me an estimated delivery date of May 29. 🤔😓

Many years ago, some of my acquaintances hosted their daughter’s Australian friend, who came to Milan straight from Adelaide. Ebony-colored hair and light eyes. We were all invited to play host and she was taken everywhere.  But when we were out with her, and the Italian friend who spoke excellent English wasn’t always there, she kept crying.  I understand little or nothing, she would say.  When you speak, it seems to me like one long word.  Everything is complicated!  And she would start crying again.  Who knows why heavenwelkin’s post reminded me of the Australian girl after all this time.  The telematic world is all nerve-racking,  full of inconsistencies.  And thank goodness we don’t have to look for the fixed point in Adelaide.  But that’s how it is.

It is now 15:05 and the BRT tracking code is still not active.

At this point I have to assume that the package is still at the Fermopoint.....

If we take into account that:

    A) The Fermopoint opening time is 9:00 a.m. and I dropped off the package at 9:30, and the email notification of receipt at the Fermopoint came at 9:51 a.m.

    B) to get to the Fermopoint I had to drive many kilometers when I could have just as easily waited for the courier at home or in the office.

If BRT did not go to pick it up yesterday, May 24, at the Fermopoint despite the request having arrived at 9:51 a.m., in my opinion that is equivalent to a missed pickup.

If for packages delivered to the Fermopoint by 11:00 in the morning you have to wait until the following day to get the pickup at the advertised 48 hours, you have to add another 24 hours for the package to sit at the Fermopoint.

I have used the postal home pickup service in some cases, only for registered envelopes destined for abroad. To bypass the confusion of scheduled appointments that create Russian-queue-length lines at post offices. But when I need to send something with the Delivery Standard parcel (formerly pacco celere 3), I take it to the post office myself.  They weigh it and put it out for delivery. I have never had a delay. Which used to happen sometimes around Christmas with the previous service.  For parcels, I avoid any intermediate solution that involves unexpected circuit stalls.  Best regards.

If you buy the poste delivery standard service and then take it to the post office (instead of having SDA come to pick it up at home), you're better off buying poste delivery web, which costs less and is meant precisely for delivery at the post office.

As for delivery times, if the parcels pass through the various post offices, the delivery times are longer than with direct SDA handling (from pickup to delivery).

In the past this happened with Poste's cheaper service (I think it was called pacco ordinario), where they would deliberately leave the parcels parked somewhere during transit, otherwise they would have competed with the more expensive services like paccocelere1 or paccocelere3.

Poste delivery standard estimates 3 days for delivery, but when SDA handled it directly the times were on average 24/48 hours.

Now delivery times are AT LEAST 3 working days, but they often get longer, so as long as you find a calm buyer everything is fine; if you find an anxious and picky buyer, you're in TROUBLE, which is why I'm looking for another faster service at a similar price.

    Best regards.

I tried the BRT service I bought yesterday on the eBay shipping site.

On May 24, 2023, early in the morning, the label is purchased

    sshot-966.jpg

All good, still on May 24, 2023 around 9:30 I go to drop off the package at the BRT Fermopoint

Half an hour later I get the BRT email saying that the parcel has been taken in charge by the Fermopoint

Today, May 25, 2023 at around 6:35 am, tracking is still not available.

But this seems to me to be a real BRT feature because usually when I order something that is shipped with them, the tracking is never available on the day the seller marks it as shipped.

    sshot-967.jpg

    sshot-968.jpg

As for the rest, we'll see today what time tracking starts and how long it takes to deliver, bearing in mind that we're talking about an area not hit by flooding, not islands, not a disadvantaged area.

Anyway, normally if you made the booking this morning (which is Saturday) the courier should come to pick it up on Monday 23 December from 9 to 18.

Of the SDA/Poste proposals from the provider, the express box is the one with the fewest stops and most easily falls within 24/48h; the others, unfortunately, are listed incorrectly by packlink/provider and haven’t been aligned, but they advertise 24/48 and get around it by writing "estimated"; if they wrote the updated timings, they would be less appealing.

I haven’t yet had the chance to try the provider’s brt, because the packages are too big for the pickup point, but I’ve also taken it as a possible solution.

Good morning to everyone on the forum.

I’m starting this discussion because, as a private seller on eBay who uses the integrated shipping service "ebay spedizioni" by packlink

    I’ve noticed that:

For the Poste Delivery Standard service (the one where the SDA courier comes to your home to pick up the package) it no longer guarantees delivery times worth mentioning like SDA used to (which were on average 24/48 hours, excluding islands and disadvantaged areas).

In fact, nowadays it almost always happens that after SDA picks up the package, it goes through the post office network, lengthening and sometimes doubling or tripling the estimated delivery times.

With a whole series of after-sales problems that you can well imagine.

As far as I understand, this problem isn’t solved by changing broker and using another shipping broker while buying a similar service managed by the SDA / Poste Italiane group.

I don’t know if there are still direct SDA --> SDA handling --> SDA delivery shipments as there were until some time ago at advantageous prices.

So I’m looking for a solution with an average delivery time like it used to be with SDA before (24/48 working hours) at a similar price.

I noticed that recently the shipping manager on eBay has added the service with delivery to a pickup point with BRT shipments.

This service would offer, for the price of 4.27 euros + VAT = 5.22 euros (up to 2 kg), insurance up to 35 euros included and two free delivery attempts.

Delivery takes place at the buyer’s home, so no pickup points.

The only question mark concerns handing it over to a BRT pickup point.

As far as I know, you leave the packages with them and no receipt of delivery is issued (but this now also happens with the courier who comes to pick up the package at home).

So you need to choose/find a pickup point that does this for a living and not as an extra side activity in spare time to make a few more euros at the end of the day, one that is serious and reliable.

From this point of view, I have available in my area a shipping center that does only this for a living, and works with several couriers, to whom I already usually entrust UPS packages.

Does anyone here already use it?

    How do you find it?

    What do you think?

since it exists, though I have "removed" the shipping manager as far as shipments in Italy are concerned for various reasons ( already listed in past posts...... )

the nearest BRT pickup point is in a neighboring town and it’s a newsstand (which is also a DHL pickup point), eventually I’ll use the service only if at that moment I have no alternative

Note: maybe it has nothing to do with your specific problems, but SDA/Poste Italiane in some areas is still served by the notorious former Nexive......... enough said (to quote an old ad, and it’s even relevant.......... )
