eBay shipping ..... in case of assistance
Summary: The discussion focuses on eBay's new shipping options, compared with the Packlink service. jurgen8287 expresses doubts about the effectiveness of support for eBay's new shipping. Other participants, including marioelegio and daxsisko, confirm that Packlink has better support. ac.accessoriauto and free_vacuum share negative experiences with eBay's shipping system, complaining about a lack of support and complications in getting refunds. pclecco and superalberta criticize the rising costs and the inefficient management of the new system. In general, many recommend continuing to use Packlink for greater reliability.
hi, I usually use packling and I've always been happy with it, now these new ebay shipments have cheaper costs.....but I wonder, in case of assistance, who do we turn to, I'm not talking about the phone, via chat they are quite disappointing, but I wonder which saint we should turn to? thanks to whoever can enlighten me

·1 week agoI agree with the new system, the problem is that the courier says to contact eBay, which sends you to packlink, which says they have nothing to do with it, so the problems never get solved

·1 week agoFor me, Ebay shipments after 2 days of use with rates slightly better than packlink, today it immediately increased all the rates by 1 euro, I immediately went back to shipping with packlink. It seems to me that the whole thing is managed in a rather amateurish way...

·1 week ago"When you buy labels on eBay, no additional insurance is available. If you want to add coverage, especially for high-value items, you need to buy the label directly from the carrier."
You can find it written here: https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/posting-items/labels-packaging-tips/buying-printing-postage-labels?id=4157
It is therefore assumed that these low-cost shipments have no insurance coverage at all.

·1 week agoThis "tip" had slipped past me.
In my case we're talking about items worth 20/30 euros, so I wouldn't call them of "high value"
After an endless morning wasted over chat with ebay customer care, in the end they repeated several times that to assert my rights I have to contact the shipper, in my case:
https://www.poste.it/assistenza/reclami
Which I did by filling out a very long form.
Via chat ebay told me that the parcel is in any case insured up to a maximum of 75 euros, that I have to assert my rights for that coverage in case of loss at poste.it (!!!) and that they can't do anything, they even suggested I refund the buyer so it doesn't "affect your seller rating".
After a few hours poste replied and brushed me off with:
"In reference to your request for verification regarding the shipment, please contact the merchant." meaning ebay, which is the sender of the shipment.
Conclusion. AVOID using the new prepaid-label purchasing platform through ebay and prefer spedizioni.ebay.it which is based on the packlink partner:
- the new platform does not do any checks on the recipient's address; if they've entered the wrong street number or an incorrect postal code, the parcel will get stuck
- there is no form of assistance in case of shipping problems (much more frequent than you might think)
- there is no insurance coverage whatsoever, not even basic, on the shipment.
IT'S NOT worth it for a further saving on the already good rates of spedizioni.ebay.it so keep using packlink because even if they're biblical in handling tickets, at least you can assert your rights in case of loss.
Sorry for the length of the post!

·1 week agoI had a similar problem too: I sent a package abroad through eBay's new integrated system with payment via balance, and although in my case the address is correct, the package has been stuck for 10 days. Now the buyer is rightly asking for a refund for a lost package, and through the eBay chat they twice suggested I contact either packlink or eBay shipping, which can't be done because they aren't the ones who generated the label.
I contacted the chat for the third time, and when I explained the problem in detail the agent completely ignored me: they no longer reply.
How can I contact them in case of problems with this new integrated shipping platform?
For now, would the solution be to stay on the old ebayspedizioni platform, which, although a bit more expensive, at least responds to complaints within their timeframes?

·1 week agoYou can always use Packlink; if instead you use the portal managed directly by eBay and recently introduced, with label purchase and charging to the balance, in my experience support in case of problems leaves a lot to be desired. I only had one problem with label generation and, despite the customer entering complete details, eBay omitted the address and only indicated ground floor in the appropriate section. The result was that the courier consequently marked the data as incomplete. I contacted eBay using the support button at the top right to explain the system error in the data entry; I remember that the details are acquired automatically and it is a field where no option appears to modify it in case of errors, as happens on Packlink .... Support was unable to help me in any way other than contacting BRT or Packlink, and the bad thing is that that shipment does not appear on Packlink since it was purchased directly on eBay with charging to the balance .... This is a big problem; at least Packlink in case of a problem is quite a bit more efficient, while the eBay operators I see make a lot of confusion. Now I hope it can be resolved in some way, otherwise the parcel will come back to me, I’ll have to refund the customer and lose the shipping money. If a problem happens once in a while that’s fine, but I’ll consider whether to switch back to Packlink if it happens again

·1 week agoit depends
if you buy directly on Packlink, it has its own management,
if you buy on eBay shipping manager (still Packlink, as eBay's partner) it has another one
anyway not through eBay directly ..............
ac.accessoriauto
·1 week agoeBay has introduced label purchasing managed directly by eBay itself and as the only payment method, charging to the balance. Packlink eBay can still be used, but they are two separate portals
daxsisko
·1 week ago · EditedEbay, as far as I know up to today, if you buy from the Ebay operator as a private user, as in the poster’s case, always passes the problem on to whoever handles the shipment ( so Packlink ebay )
then, maybe, in the future things could change ( maybe starting from September 1..... )
ac.accessoriauto
·1 week agoThey’ve already changed it, packlink is still available if you want to use it. If you try to create a label now, eBay introduced a new section about a week ago; basically it’s eBay itself that sells you the labels. eBay shipping packlink, on the other hand, is another section; basically you have two separate ones, one managed directly by eBay, another by packlink in collaboration with eBay .... For packlink, in case of problems there are all the support options, for example parcel loss, delivery problems, etc., and from experience it happens only a few times, but I’ve always found them efficient and professional; in the event of a lost parcel I’ve always been reimbursed.... With eBay the situation is very different, if there are problems with a shipment the support leaves a lot to be desired, maybe because it’s something new, but the operators do tell you to contact packlink or Bartolini; too bad that in my case the error was created by eBay itself during label creation (basically they left out the data in the address part even though the customer provided everything correctly) result: the courier understandably states incomplete address .... Maybe I was wrong too not to check, but it has never happened to me in at least a hundred shipments sent with this new system ... Next time if it happens to you, be careful, but eBay support is absolutely not as professional as packlink’s
ac.accessoriauto
·1 week agoI’ll add that it’s not possible to contact packlink because the shipment was purchased directly on eBay and it doesn’t even appear on the packlink portal; in fact, the sender listed on the package label is eBay GmbH... Basically they washed their hands of it despite the system error.... I’ll try again hoping to find a more informed and competent operator

·1 week agoHave you also tried checking at this link?
https://spedizioni.ebay.it/private
from here you can see all the shipments made with the eBay/Packlink shipping manager and their status (see the left-hand column);
as for the BRT label showing sender of the package eBay GmbH , it has appeared to me repeatedly for at least three years now.... so I don't think it's a clue ........

·1 week agointeresting clarification: anyway, I gather that the change hasn’t been made for everyone (some users I know still don’t have either the option to use their eBay balance to pay for shipping and/or any purchases on the platform, or this second direct shipping management through eBay.....) and they’re also making changes to professional accounts (when the email seemed to suggest the upcoming changes would mainly concern private accounts...... here too it’s clear that that’s not really the case)
anyway, with eBay it’s the same story when there are major changes..... there follows a period of "settling in" that can last quite a while...... and the updates aren’t rolled out to everyone at the same time (something that has already happened in the past...... )

·Sep 3, 2026 at 11:37 PMDid Packlink reimburse you for the lost parcels?? I’m having a hard time believing it… I sell motorcycle parts, I send a piston to Germany, parcel gets lost, Packlink’s reply… I sent a prohibited item… in short, Packlink’s rules say, for example, I can send a car fender, but I can’t send a muffler..
