Shipping error

Good morning, I’m writing to ask for advice because it’s the first time I’ve bought a product on Ebay.
So, on the 23rd I placed an order on Ebay to be delivered to Catania.
Following the tracking, the product left Catania, but today it shows as out for delivery in Rome.
But the shipping address for where the item should be delivered is Catania.
According to the tracking, it seems to be taking a different route.
Has this ever happened to you?
Did the seller make some mistake?

I can confirm that sometimes shipments take nonsensical routes; years ago I shipped something and saw the package go up before coming back down to its destination.

You're in that first-purchase/experience anxiety phase, but it's normal; it's happened a bit to everyone, both with the first purchase and the first sale.

Follow the tracking and wait for the delivery calmly. Bye

From what I can see, I think there are at least 3 SDA/Italian Post branches in Catania.

In some cases a package has to go to the central HUB and then return to the branch in charge because packages travel along preset routes.

In my opinion the seller didn't enter the wrong address, but it's simply the route the package has to take.

It seems absurd, but sometimes a package ends up traveling hundreds of km rather than just a few km even though it's in the same city.

Sorry.. but where do you infer that it’s out for delivery in Rome? I see that it’s in transit at the operations center (HUB) in Rome, which could also be Fiumicino if it’s going by air, these are internal references (not very explicit). In any case, if you don’t receive it within the time established by eBay, you can always open a claim for item not received, but it’s more likely that you’ll receive it between today and tomorrow. Let us know
