Summary: The discussion revolves around the issue of funds being blocked for 170 days. Participants include stars.shoes, marioelegio, sika700, and others, who appear to be discussing potential solutions or sharing experiences related to the financial block. The interaction involves multiple follow-up responses, indicating a persistent concern about the duration and impact of the blockage.
Hello, today I received the email stating that my account has been permanently suspended, I'm not here to say whether it's a right or wrong decision. But to compare notes with anyone who has had the same problem and, in particular, to understand whether within 170 days eBay really charges the blocked funds to the bank account, because I am waiting for €1000 and it would be reassuring to hear from someone who has been through the same situation as me whether the money arrived and how long it took. Thank you in advance, it would help me a lot because I am very worried

·1 year agoI had 4800 euros in blocked funds for the same reason yours and without an unassailable justification that could justify this decision ... after 8 weeks from the time of the notice of the block they unblocked my funds ..eBay support told me that it's a management automation and they have no say in intervening manually even though I have my doubts ..Well my problem is I didn't have to wait 170 days to get my money back

·1 year agoHi guys, same problem here, they only told me about the 170-day block yesterday, after invoices and bank statements as well as ID documents had been requested.
everything was provided correctly and the next day I receive the permanent block notification.
I’m trying to get in touch with support but they keep turning me away with the usual message, namely that the decision is final, etc..
I really can’t understand what happened, I’m trying to contact them even just to find out the reasons but nothing.

·1 year agoCheck the email that eBay sent you, you should find some explanation regarding the 170-day hold on the funds.
Check whether you complied with the pre-sale rules
https://www.ebay.it/help/policies/listing-policies/regole-sulla-prevendita?id=4252
Out of 12 feedback ratings in the last month, 4 negative and 1 neutral, and even reading their content there’s a bit of everything.
I’d also tell you to read here:

Rules on seller standards.

·1 year agoHi, thank you for the reply,
I am aware of the mistakes I made; my question is whether the blocked funds are guaranteed after 170 days, as they say (net of any refunds, of course).
I am worried since this is an important amount.
thanks again,
Cristian

·1 year agoHello,
no one is certain and no one can guarantee you anything... unfortunately only those who have had such an experience can confirm it or not.
The problem is that users who start these kinds of conversations to complain about this, then automatically disappear without telling us how it ended.
Best regards.

·1 year agoHi Cristian
First of all, let me explain why eBay blocks your funds for 170 days:
eBay freezes funds for up to 170 days to cover any:
Returns
Claims
Disputes
Refunds requested by buyers
It’s a safety period that eBay uses to ensure buyer protection.
Will your funds be unblocked at the end of these 170 days?
Generally yes. After 170 days (about 6 months), if:
There are no active claims or disputes,
All refunds or returns have been resolved,
the remaining funds are unblocked and made available for withdrawal.
If, while your activity is blocked, disputes are opened on eBay or outside eBay, eBay refunds the buyers who opened the claim.
So if, for example, you currently have 3000 euros blocked and eBay issues refunds for 1000 euros, at the end of the 170 days you will receive 2000 euros in refunds.
There are cases in which the funds may not be returned, for example if:
eBay has issued refunds to buyers that exceed the total amount of the funds,
There is confirmed fraudulent activity,
The seller has outstanding debts with eBay
Best regards and good luck.

·1 year agoHi, thanks for the reply,
I am aware of the mistakes I made; my question is whether the blocked funds are guaranteed after 170 days as they say (after any refunds, of course).
I am concerned since this is a large amount of money; the negative feedback came precisely because of the cancellation of some preorders, we couldn’t do otherwise, they were allocated en masse.
thanks again,
Cristian

·1 year agoHi, the same thing happened to me too, with 60 feedback I have always shipped right away and with positive feedback, the problem is selling continuously in order to make a profit, beyond the earnings, in the end what they condemn is the merchant way in my opinion, in the end I only have 40 euros that I’ll see in 170 days

·1 year agoHi teckplace.16
On eBay there are algorithms that analyze a seller's activity and then, when needed, put limits in place.
Algorithms that evaluate a wide range of parameters and that we do not know in detail how they work.
Under the same conditions (private seller selling new items with stock photos) there are sellers with a much larger turnover who are operating just fine.
eBay should have provided you with an email explaining (roughly) what was wrong with your account.
Surely the activity you carry out (carried out) lacked the proper tax regulations and eBay sooner or later cuts off the flow to these accounts.
Kind regards

·1 year agoBeyond all the valid points made by the other users, think about it for a moment: how can you expect someone who has had the same experience as you to reply to you here on eBay's forum? As far as I know, banned users no longer have any way to access eBay, so I imagine they can't access the forum either.

·1 year agoThe decision is fair, the violations you committed are many and all serious.
Ebay is exposed to possible chargeback requests on payments for 13 months, so for this reason, it is authorized to withhold your funds.
If they say 170 days, it means you have to wait and hope that there are no refund requests during this period.

OP1 year agoHi, can you explain the chargeback thing to me better? So does that mean I have to wait all 170 days and if something were to go wrong, what happens? Thanks for the reply
marioelegio
·1 year agoAnyone who pays by credit card on ebay has 13 months to ask for their money back if they realize they have been cheated and did not receive an item that perfectly matches the listing.
If ebay receives a request of this kind from the buyer’s bank (a chargeback request), it is forced to refund and then recovers the amount from the seller’s funds. If those are not sufficient, it hands the case over to debt collection.

OP1 year agoThanks, so what should I expect? 170 days or less to receive the funds? And am I certain that within these timeframes they’ll arrive, or can they be blocked forever?

·1 year agoIf you receive return requests or chargebacks, you may not see your funds at all and may even have to give more to eBay.
Never improvise as a merchant... it's not a game and it becomes a criminal matter!
Have a nice Sunday.

OP1 year agoI did things correctly, all the items were delivered and there were no complaints, I didn't suddenly decide to become a seller, I simply had never sold on eBay and I didn't know about all these procedures; that's why I didn't say whether the suspension was right or wrong, I only asked for information about the permanent suspension and the recovery of the funds, which is what I care about. If I don't receive any return request, how long could it take for my funds to arrive in my bank account, and will there be any other problems? Thank you for your response, have a good Sunday,

·1 year agoSelling new shoes in quantity with a private account without therefore indicating your VAT number is by no means doing things correctly... it's simply being an unauthorized seller!
The law says that ignorance is not accepted, so before starting to sell on eBay you should have informed yourself properly, both about how eBay works and whether you were legally allowed to sell what you were selling!
Anyway, it's impossible to tell you whether after 170 days eBay will pay out the funds to you without problems, you have to wait and see how the situation develops... anyway, very likely with DAC7 you could have problems with the Revenue Agency, with a quick calculation, your sales could exceed the limits imposed by that regulation, so you will be reported next year.
Happy Sunday.

·1 year agoFrom what I can see from here, I notice that you sold 11 items in total with this account, so I don’t think the issue was the turnover.
Out of 5 feedback ratings, one negative from a likely foreign seller, so I infer that you also had international shipping enabled.
Users are complaining about the long delivery times, so I infer that you were ordering the shoes from China and having them sent to eBay buyers.
So most likely you were doing dropshipping with a private account.

If you want, come back to us in 170 days and let us know whether the money will be credited to you.
Kind regards.
