FUNDS BLOCKED FOR 31 DAYS
Even though the item I sold was picked up IN PERSON, with local pickup and direct contact with the buyer, the funds are being SEIZED from me for 31 DAYS. This is madness. The delivery took place on the same day as the payment, the funds should have been UNLOCKED, but that is not the case. Besides, I repeat, the delivery took place with local pickup; the pickup barcode was recorded, and the user also had plenty of time to check that the purchase matched what I described in my listing. THE FUNDS MUST BE UNLOCKED: 31 days is an ENORMOUS amount of time, absolutely outside any reasonable thought, almost unconstitutional, especially since the pickup and delivery DID TAKE PLACE. If you need liquidity, avoid holding on to your users’ money, especially when there is NO REASON FOR THE BLOCK.

OP2 years agoUpdate: AFTER CONSTANT COMPLAINTS I WAS FINALLY CONTACTED BY CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHO APOLOGIZED AND IMMEDIATELY UNBLOCKED THE FUNDS.
Have a good day.
p.s. to all the users here who commented:
Don’t play defense lawyers and, if you really want to be helpful, listen and don’t be superficial. If the issue DOESN’T CONCERN YOU, don’t comment, let the moderators handle it. Thanks.

·2 years agoIf the topic DOES NOT CONCERN YOU, do not comment, let the administrators handle it. Thanks.
Why do administrators respond in the community? And when?
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoI don't know, but they contacted me, so there is someone who monitors the progress of the threads.
Still, the fact remains that replying superficially and without grasping the problem is still a useless attitude. Better not reply at that point. Also because you could annoy the person you're talking to (already clearly annoyed by the situation) and I imagine nobody wants to fight.
cizeta1964
·2 years agobecause you might annoy the person you’re talking to (who is already clearly annoyed by the situation) and I imagine no one feels like arguing.
It’s a community of users who reply voluntarily, without compensation, and everyone is free to express their opinion, so if the person you’re talking to gets annoyed... it’s not that big a deal, the worst of it is for them.
but they contacted me so there is someone who keeps an eye on how the threads are going.
No, no one, more likely you were the one who asked to be contacted in the first place, they have your number.
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoAlright, okay, free expression and all that, etc. but please be consistent with the issue, otherwise it's pointless. If someone raises an issue, and a response is given that isn't consistent with the issue, this is pointed out and as a reply you always get the same statements back, it's pointless and not constructive, understand me. My reaction comes from feeling like I'm being made a fool of.
cizeta1964
·2 years agoAnd in your opinion, in an online volunteer community that's "non-profit", what would be the point of messing with you?
heavenwelkin
·2 years agoOf course there is someone who “watches” and “monitors” the forum, of course.
There are moderators, administrators, employees, etc etc.
Someone took your request to heart and the funds were manually unblocked for you.
I’m glad you managed to solve the problem (if we want to call it a problem) since you still have far too few sales and evidently there were blocks in your account that were triggered automatically in certain circumstances.
Kind regards
cizeta1964
·2 years agoHi heavenwelkin, are you sure there are that many people following the community, besides the moderators? Because as far as I know, that doesn't seem to be the case...

·2 years agoMaybe this user doesn't quite understand the principle that we are NOT eBay and NOT even eBay operators, but simply forum users trying to figure out (with the little data we have in hand) how to give him explanations and answers to his question.
He should get in touch with customer support (the real one) to get more details and, maybe, make whatever complaints he thinks are appropriate.
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoAnother absolutely useless out-of-context comment. You could have easily spared us that. I don't know what you're trying to achieve by replying. Maybe the goal is to boost the forum reply stats? Yet another useless comment.
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoIf you have problems of this kind, remove the PICKUP IN AREA option. You are not able to offer this service clearly and correctly. To all sellers, if you see this post: DO NOT USE EBAY, sellers ARE NOT PROTECTED and the money is held for months with INCOMPREHENSIBLE and UNCLEAR REASONS.
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoThe block is due to the Cap. That’s what I’m being told. This block makes no sense to exist. You’re answering me with the wrong end of the stick just to stick to your point. Please verify this CAP story as soon as possible. Thanks.

·2 years agoYou carried out the correct procedure together with the buyer with the QR code verification as shown in the eBay guidelines
quote:
how to notify eBay of the in-person delivery of an item sold.
- In an in-person exchange you must scan the QR code that was sent to the buyer.
- Or you must enter the 6-digit code that was sent to them together with the QR.
Only then does eBay know that the exchange took place.
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoThe QR code has been scanned as instructed!
heavenwelkin
·2 years agohave you followed these instructions correctly:

mrbazar96
OP2 years agoFollowed the letter precisely to avoid these situations. The QR code was correctly scanned by the buyer’s phone exactly as dictated by the guidelines!

·2 years agoExcluding the procedural error, you very likely fall into the NEW SELLERS category.
https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/pending-payments?id=4816
New sellers have the funds available after a certain number of days, unlike REGULAR SELLERS who have the funds available immediately.
To become a recurring / regular seller, you need to make a certain number of sales and maintain them with a certain consistency over time.
Kind regards.

OP2 years agoExcuse me, but the blocking message makes no reference to the status, only and exclusively to the Cap. If it had been that, I wouldn't have opened any dispute.

I don't see, in this case, any crazy or unreasonable behavior.

OP2 years agoAbsolutely NOT, that's not how it is. Ebay points out that the funds are released 24 hours after delivery, full stop. Vinted and Subito once again prove to be clearly superior services.
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoI'll also add that this is the block message: “
The postal code where the item was delivered does not match the buyer's.
Your payment will remain on hold until we are able to verify that the item has been delivered to the buyer. Your payment will be available on 17 Oct 2024. ”
THE PICKUP HAPPENED IN THE AREA!!! WAKE UP!
What kind of system is this? Are we out of our minds? Are you kidding me?!
cizeta1964
·2 years ago. Ebay emphasizes that the funds are released 24 hours after delivery, period.
Can you kindly show where exactly it says that in the rules?
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoThe reason for the block is this:
“The postal code where the item was delivered does not match the buyer's.
Your payment will remain on hold until we can verify that the item has been delivered to the buyer. Your payment will be available on 17 Oct 2024. ”
THE PICKUP TOOK PLACE IN THE AREA!
You are not understanding the problem.
cizeta1964
·2 years agoDid you write it... I just wanted to know in which part of the rules you read it
mrbazar96
OP2 years agoBut excuse me, are you defending the site here? There’s clearly an ERROR on the platform, I’m not looking for useless, snippy replies. I’d like them to explain to me what happened and why my money is being held without any reason. If you have an answer to that, I’d be very happy to hear it; otherwise your comments are completely useless and out of context.
marioelegio
·2 years agoCizeta's request is absolutely not out of context.
If we say that payments to new sellers are suspended and instead you say that the funds should be unlocked within 24 hours, could you show us where in the rules it says what you are claiming.
Then the reason is irrelevant, they would remain suspended even with the same CAP.

·2 years agoIf you decide to use electronic payments through the Visa/Mastercard network and its related systems (see PayPal), you decide to authorize eBay to manage the stages of listing and post-sale, and then you decide to do an in-person handover, let’s say that eBay, in order to avoid disputes over that electronic payment, must make sure the sale went through successfully.
Just as in distance sales there are 3 phases 1)payment 2)shipping and delivery 3) buyer satisfaction within 30 days.
the same principle also applies to in-person exchanges.
1)payment by credit card or PayPal 2)delivery of the item 3) satisfied buyer who has 30 days to open a claim on eBay.
So wait patiently for eBay to carry out these checks and next time weigh the pros and cons of an in-person exchange with payment by card or PayPal.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoIf I decide to sell a collectible coin and I do it on Subito with an in-person cash exchange, I could get scammed with a counterfeit coin.
Maybe I can't afford to bring an appraiser with me for a coin that I pay 50 euros for.....
In this case, selling with an in-person exchange on ebay turns out to be an excellent solution because it allows me to protect myself in case of fraud.
The same goes for shipping the coin: on Subito I only have 3 days to file a complaint and then the whole complaint system, how it is handled, etc. is light years away from ebay's.
Or I could buy a bicycle or a scooter that turns out to have been stolen; months later I could run into problems, with electronic payment and in-person exchange you protect yourself.
Kind regards.
