eBay shipping manager, Bartolini is not trackable
Hi everyone, some time ago I started using the Bartolini courier through eBay’s shipping manager, since it turns out to be more convenient than the post office. Today, while checking the status of an order shipped to a customer, I realized that the tracking number attached to the shipment doesn’t appear anywhere! The package can’t be tracked. Out of curiosity, I checked some shipments I made recently and none of the ones sent with Bartolini show as tracked! Now I’m wondering, in the event that the package isn’t delivered (in my case, the last one I shipped is delayed), who takes responsibility? eBay??? Packlick?? Has anyone had experiences like this? Thanks in advance for any replies!

·2 years agofrom what I've seen, sometimes the tracking works, other times it doesn't.
I stopped using it because I had scheduled a pickup and they never came. I wrote emails and they didn't even reply to me

·2 years agoHi! When everything works well, BRT tracking works as @daxsisko said, namely advanced search and customer parcel ID. From personal experience though, I can tell you that BRT has technical problems with the barcodes generated by Packlink. In general it works, but it has happened to me that some parcels taken to the BRT FP were never picked up by the courier because, according to the tobacconist manager, the handheld pickup was never registered (after 5 days we took them back and resent them with SDA), another time with home pickup they took the parcel and then in the evening the local branch contacted us because the barcode was giving an error and they had to create a new shipping note on the spot....result: to be safe, never BRT again through the shipping manager (also because if they change the shipping note and code without telling you, you don’t even have proof of delivery)

·2 years agoBartolini answer you in a way like you don't even ship with them anyway it's still a mystery who's taking responsibility

·2 years agosomething similar happened to me too, my package, taken to Fermopoint, was basically a ghost, no take-in email and no tracking even after a few days!
All I had left to do was go back to Fermopoint to ask for info, and they just washed their hands of it, saying my package simply hadn’t been picked up yet (after a week!), they didn’t know why and that I had to contact Bartolini support (which for them didn’t exist!)
I had to keep insisting over and over, they wouldn’t even give me the package back, almost held hostage, because “but we have it in charge” and I said “then do something to unlock the pickup by Bartolini!”.
From that moment on I never used this courier again, if there are problems, you’re left with nothing but the clothes on your back.

·2 years agoMany buyers, when they don’t see the pickup point option, have the bright idea of changing the shipping address and entering the pickup point’s address.
In these cases no pickup code is generated and the pickup point acting as intermediary does not receive any commission.
Since there is no code as proof of the pickup having taken place, a fermopoint could quite happily wash their hands of it by making false statements.
I don’t know if this is your case, but you have to be careful when relying on the fermopoint by changing the shipping address to bypass the lack of the PICKUP POINT option.
Best regards.

·2 years agoNo, I had sent a package via Bartolini with "drop off" to a Fermpoint and home delivery.
In the past, though, I had packages I bought on Ebay itself and other platforms delivered to the Fermopoint, but then I gave up because, as had happened to other users too, let's say partly because the managers were a bit careless, partly because of the pickup codes on the package itself, partly because of some odd situations, also given that "better safe than sorry," I preferred to avoid it.

·2 years agoIt’s undeniable how convenient it is to have a pickup/delivery point near home where you don’t have to wait, or make someone else wait, for the courier........
But there are ALSO many drawbacks, I’ll just mention a few, the ones that come to mind right now.....
The package is delivered to a pickup location that often isn’t suitable because the packages are left somewhere in the bar, tobacconist’s, newsagent’s, stationery shop, etc. totally unattended and with free access to customers who might take advantage of that....
Take, for example, a small tobacconist’s in Rome that offers 14 days as the maximum time for pickup....... and not all customers pick up the same day...... the packages pile up and space runs out.
Then many fermopoints do not accept bulky packages, so you may end up having to turn to more than one.....
Personally, the only fermopoint I consider reliable is the post office 😎
Kind regards.

·2 years agowell, more FERMO POINT than this.........
anyway, if you want to use a Fermo Point to ship something, it’s always better to check how reliable the person running it is....... plus problems can happen even with “normal” shipments.....

·2 years agoyou're right, but unfortunately seriousness/reliability can only be seen over time and only when problems arise and how they are dealt with.
The biggest problem I ran into is the lack of tracking on the Bartolini site; basically nothing shows up until the evening before delivery and of course several users wrote to me asking why, after a few days from the shipping notice, there was still nothing in the tracking, neither on Ebay nor on Bartolini itself, only for them to fortunately then receive the email with the estimated delivery date!
With other couriers, as soon as the shipment is accepted, it shows up right away in tracking and if there are problems a complaint is opened immediately... with Bartolini, without tracking and without even the pickup email, basically a ghost parcel, what complaint can you open ?
and above all, how do you prove to the recipient that you actually shipped it? 😕

·2 years agoThe responsibility always remains yours... so in the event of non-delivery, you will be the one who has to refund.
Remember that the buyer can open a return request just for the delivery delay.
Kind regards.

·2 years agothe BRT courier website (formerly Bartolini) has various ways to track parcels: are you sure you entered the tracking code in the right place? usually the eBay / Packlink shipping manager provides a trackable code on the BRT courier website in advanced search, and then this code must be entered in the Search with customer parcel ID field
