The pickup point mixed up two of my orders
Summary: The discussion concerns an issue with the pickup point that has confused two orders from maurizos. heavenwelkin and marioelegio take part in the conversation, trying to resolve or discuss the issue of the mixed-up orders, exchanging messages, but no detailed information is provided about the outcome or resolution.
I placed two orders (different items from two different sellers) and had them shipped to the pickup point. I’ll call the first item A and the second item B.
I receive the email with the tracking for item A, I get the message that the item has arrived at the pickup point, I go to the pickup point, give the code, and pick up item A.
The next day I receive the message that item B is ready for pickup (but previously I had not received the tracking, so I assume it had not yet been shipped; in fact, on eBay there is no tracking), I go to the pickup point and ask for my package. The shopkeeper (pickup point) tells me I had already picked it up yesterday. I point out that the day before I had picked up product A and that I was there to pick up package B. The shopkeeper checks her terminal and tells me that since she couldn’t mark the package as picked up (which one of the two??!!) she called her support and asked them to mark package B as picked up.
Now I find myself with package A marked as picked up (which is correct) and it also shows that I picked up package B, which has not yet been shipped (in fact, it has no tracking). I think the shopkeeper got confused: she marked package A as picked up and then noticed that something was still showing as to be picked up (but it was package B that was to be picked up), she called support and asked them to mark package B as picked up. She got mixed up and didn’t realize that there were two shipments (and two orders). How can the mistake made by the pickup point be fixed?

·1 year agoEvery package that arrives at a Fermopoint is marked with an eCP code, so if you picked up package A and the code on the package matches the code you received for picking up A, the next notice for picking up package B would have had a different code. I think it’s enough to point this out.
If, on the other hand, the two notices had the same code, the tobacconist is right.

·1 year agoMaybe the buyer gave the tobacconist the eCP code for the other parcel that still has to be shipped...... but that has been registered in the fermopoint system since the seller most likely has already generated the shipping label ......

OP1 year agoI provided the code for package A.
The tobacconist marked package A as picked up. Then, in my opinion, she focused on package B (thinking it was package A that was still showing as to be delivered), called support, and had package B forced to show as picked up because she must have told them that I had picked it up and it wouldn’t let her close it.
The thing was that package B had not yet been shipped and there was no tracking.
Support didn’t think twice and, trusting the tobacconist, marked package B as picked up.
I’m sure that what I described is what happened, because the tobacconist admitted that she couldn’t mark package B as picked up and called support to have it closed as picked up..... package B had not yet been shipped....

·1 year agoRereading CAREFULLY, you say that:
Parcel B had not yet arrived on the day parcel A was picked up.
Parcel B arrives on the second day even though you say tracking wasn’t available.
On the second day you go to pick up the parcel and the tobacconist tells you that you already came by yesterday.
Aside from the codes, did parcel B ALSO physically arrive at the tobacconist’s ?
If you picked up only one parcel and parcel B shows as arrived at the Fermopoint, the tobacconist has to check among the parcels to see whether there is one in your name.
If he says he doesn’t have it, the possibilities are:
1) having already scanned the two codes, he thought it best to keep parcel B
2) parcel B still hasn’t physically arrived for him, so try coming back tomorrow.
In any case, you shouldn’t have provided a pickup code for a parcel that had not physically arrived at the Fermopoint.
The mistake started with you.
keep us updated

OP1 year agoI didn't provide any code for package B, only for package A.
Package B was shipped today (I was given the tracking number) and the funny thing is that it already shows as picked up (picked up before departure).... We'll see what happens in the next few days.... 😉

·1 year agoSo how did the tobacconist find out that there were 2 parcels to collect and not 1 ?
How did she mark parcel B as delivered if she had no code to enter?
I hope everything goes for the best.
Best regards

·1 year agoI reread the post with much more ATTENTION as per your suggestion and I’m wondering:
In your opinion, how can a Fermopoint mark a package that hasn’t even been shipped yet as picked up?

·1 year agoGood evening maurizos
Assuming that pickup points are usually commercial businesses that accept, for about 0.50 euro, the handling and storage of a parcel for up to 14 days.
Maybe they think this will increase their customer base.
Bartenders, newsagents, gas stations and so on..... who usually have to do a few basic things until the unexpected comes up....
You call support and maybe they don't know or don't understand and they make it up as they go........
So you, out of 2 parcels that arrived at the fermopoint, picked up only one; what does fermopoint want to do with that other parcel, keep it because the code doesn't go through at the terminal or the delivery isn't showing up?
Tell them you'll give them the 50 cents commission for the pickup........😎
Best regards.

OP1 year ago@heavenwelkin,
Thank you for your muddled response: if you reread my post carefully, you’ll notice that only one package had arrived (package A). Next time, I suggest giving sensible answers, but thanks anyway for your contribution.

·1 year agoWhen the second parcel arrives, go pick it up.
The tobacconist told you there were some problems, I don’t think that when the parcel arrives she’ll keep it for herself......
If this were to happen, all you can do is file a complaint.
Kind regards
