Wrong address provided
Hello, I’m a private seller who occasionally makes sales here on eBay. A few days ago I completed a sale on the site and, as usual, I downloaded the label and everything and then sent the package. In the following days the package arrived at the courier’s depot, only to then remain there in storage. Today I was contacted by the buyer, who asked me why the package hadn’t arrived and gave me the address again. At that point I realized that the ZIP code provided by eBay is completely wrong; in fact, it’s for a completely different area and that address obviously doesn’t exist. I shipped with BRT and, if I’m not mistaken, you could access a page with a PIN and the BRT code to make changes. I also advised the buyer to try contacting the depot where the package is located. I don’t know of any other options myself. Do you know if anything else can be done? Thanks to whoever replies.

OP2 years agothat's what I tried to explain to the buyer, an email from BRT arrives with a PIN that allows you to change the shipment if needed, however they stopped replying to me so I don't know what else to do, the parcel is still being held and I don't know for how long it will stay there.

·2 years agoFor next time, hoping that the transaction goes through successfully, brasko, once the buyer has paid you, you arm yourself with a bit of patience (about 20 minutes for a standard package) and a nice sturdy cardboard box
that you can find in any supermarket or warehouse. Cut your packaging to size into a rectangle or square with a cutter, following the measurements you’ve marked out in pencil so you can cut straight lines. Raise the side edges without cutting too deeply, then close it with a lid, also self-cut from cardboard. Put on the thick tape, the khaki-colored packing tape, and you won’t have to buy a thing. Stick two stationery adhesive labels on the front. Your address at the top and the recipient’s on the bottom right. Go to the post office with your registered letter filled out and send it off. You’ll come back with a copy of the completed shipment. Enter the tracking in the appropriate space in the sellers’ console and immediately you’ll see: Shipped! On such-and-such day at such-and-such time. Now you sit back and wait for the chart to let you know that the package has arrived for your buyer. Done. Best regards

Buyers have gotten too comfortable, they think they're on Amazon where everything is owed to them.......
On eBay, the buyer has to do their part; if they neglect this, then they pay the consequences.
The buyer has been informed, that's what matters. Wait for the package to be returned to you and then expect a dispute for item not received.
At that point contact eBay support by phone and explain that you shipped to the address provided on eBay and also notified the buyer of the situation, after which the package, after the storage period, was returned to you.
At this point eBay should close the dispute in your favor.
In that case you can choose to do one of 3 things:
A) Refund the buyer for the item cost only, excluding shipping costs
B) Keep the item and the money
C) Contact the buyer and propose a new shipment, where the buyer has to pay the shipping costs again.
Kind regards

·2 years agothat said, personally it would set off at least a small warning bell for me in the case of buyers who have entered a shipping address (obviously even worse if it's actually nonexistent....... ) and then, after the shipment has been made, they give me another one....., anyway, as Sika pointed out, the problem is the buyer's if you shipped to the destination address registered by the buyer on eBay: then it's up to you to decide what to do once the package comes back.....

·2 years agoHello,
if you sent it to the address that eBay gave you, you're all set!
So contact the buyer and tell him that when the item is returned to you, he can pay for a new shipment by updating his shipping address.
Kind regards.
