Hello, I was wondering if my situation is normal, let me explain: on the 27th I placed an order and on October 31st the seller gave me the tracking number (after a couple of messages), but I notice that the tracking only tells me: Shipping code provided
Theoretically it should arrive on Monday, November 6th, but the tracking shows no signs of life and I even contacted the seller (who doesn't reply after about 24 hours, after I contacted him)
But is all this normal? The courier would be post it, Poste Italiane I suppose, right? because even on their site the tracking code doesn't work,
I hope the code works on Monday, if not on Tuesday I have to contact support, right?
do you have any advice or ideas for my situation?

·1 year agoI bought it on 16/06/25 on eBay and the following day I was given a tracking code with wording like yours, but on the post office website it turns out impossible to track; now on eBay the seller has put that it will be delivered between the 19th and 24th, since today is still the 20th I'm waiting, but if it doesn't arrive by the 24th I'll report it right away, especially because I was assured that the package had been shipped on the 17th, but as of today there is no trace

·1 year agoHello everyone, I am a seller on Ebay, I advise all sellers NOT to use Ebay's delivery services, they are cheap but unfortunately they mainly rely on the SDA/Italian postal service courier, the postal service in Italy does NOT work well, I have had quite a few negative experiences due to failure to deliver the goods sold, not on Ebay, where I have been selling for a short time... but the courier is the same!.
Get your own courier and solve everything, except for the price, which is generally higher, but at least you don't receive negative feedback.

·1 year agoHi Vittorio C.
I agree with you.
I use the ebay shipping manager and the cheapest rate is offered by poste italiane / SDA.
But I don't use poste italiane's services because, having set delivery at 2 / 3 working days, in order to avoid complaints for an item not received from overly exacting and nitpicky users, I usually use BRT, offered at a slightly higher price than poste (we're talking a few cents).
With Poste italiane, the postedelivery express service bought directly from them (without intermediaries) works well, and anyway delivery times have definitely gotten longer.
Once, with paccocelere 1, it said that delivery was in 24/48 hours, now instead on the poste site for postedevery express they write delivery times of 1 ~ 4 working days (Saturday and holidays excluded).
In my experience, BRT has always behaved well, delivering in 1 or 2 working days (islands and difficult-to-reach areas excluded), even when buying labels through packlink.
On the other hand, with poste italiane via packlink, I would sometimes get one package delivered in 24 hours and 10 packages delivered in 3 ~ 4 ~ 7 days or more....
Best regards.

OP2 years agorefund obtained thanks to ebay, I'm just waiting for the money to arrive on the card

·2 years agoThey make accounts, they let them mature and then at some point they scam..
Who loses out is eBay
heavenwelkin
·2 years agoMany years ago there was the honest seller and the not-so-honest one.
Today you can end up with top seller 5-star profiles that out of nowhere turn into scammers.
I don't know how it works with professional accounts, but I remember, for example, that on PayPal they held back a sum of money to cover any similar situations.
What strategy has eBay adopted to protect itself from those TOP sellers who out of nowhere decide to behave like scammers?
Best regards.

·2 years agoit's a post 1, relax, they only have delivery status. One should also be prepared for the purchase, one should
formigine831
OP2 years agoHow do you know it's posted1? You don't have the shipping code and then the seller hasn't responded since October 31. Anyway, tomorrow I'll ask eBay to step in, to get a refund, and I'm not the only one who has had the same problem with this seller
megaditta.eu
·2 years agodoes the tracking start with 2IMA or 2IUP or 2IVC? Of course you're right to ask for a refund, it's your right. I'm not sure that's the case, but the only type of Poste Italiane shipping with a tracking code that shows as unavailable for days until delivery is Posta 1. If they'd used Posta 4, it wouldn't have loaded any code, because it's a shipment without one. Third case, they put in a random code and didn't send you anything, but I think this option shouldn't be taken into consideration
You don't need any response from the seller, sellers know that if customers don't receive an item they can open a claim for item not received, which is what you'll do
formigine831
OP2 years agoIt doesn't start with that code, then something that bothers me is the following: he sold the same item to 5 people (myself included) and all of us gave him negative feedback for non-delivery, in addition to not replying about it. This makes me think it's really a scam, I hope Ebay can get my money back to me quickly, it feels like I'm living an odyssey
megaditta.eu
·2 years agoYes, it makes me think that too now. Open a request for not received as soon and when you can, if you can, do it now
formigine831
OP2 years agoalready open since Tuesday and nothing, the seller is ignoring that too, and starting tomorrow I can contact Ebay directly to ask for a refund
formigine831
OP2 years agoI filed a complaint because I haven't received the item; if the seller doesn't get in touch today either, tomorrow I'll ask eBay to step in, I hope they at least can get me a full refund
formigine831
OP2 years agoI filed the complaint, let’s see if the seller responds or if eBay needs to step in
formigine831
OP2 years agoI just checked the seller's feedback, he just received negative feedback saying that the item I bought too is a scam
PS if I asked for a refund, should it arrive quickly, like by the end of next week?
formigine831
OP2 years agoGot it, so if both the refund and the package arrive, one of the 2 has to be returned.
Now I'll wait the last 24 hours and then contact Ebay

·2 years agoIf the 31st appears as the provided code, it may have been entered automatically by the system (if the seller uses integrated PackLink).
The 1st was a holiday, so pickup would have taken place on the 2nd.
If, for example, the courier did not pick it up on the 2nd, it is presumed the seller requested a reminder and we have arrived at the 3rd.
Keep in mind that until the parcel arrives at the SDA branch, the code is not uploaded into the system, so it is presumed that even on the 3rd the parcel has not been shipped.
At this point tomorrow will be the turning point: if it is picked up by this evening you will see the situation unlock; otherwise, as the "colleagues" have already said, proceed with the report to eBay.
mocer-75
·2 years agoIt may not be the case for you, since it seems to me that you did it, if the tracking code on eBay is stuck at the shipping code provided, for safety check directly on the courier's website, personally I found that with some of them the updates on eBay are not visible. Whereas on the courier's website I can see the updated status of the shipment.
formigine831
OP2 years agoI already checked the code on the postal service website, unfortunately with a negative result. I have a feeling that they still need to send the package
heavenwelkin
·2 years agoIt could also be that the code was entered manually and a typing error was made......
Or it could also be that the seller generated the shipping label but hasn’t yet gone to the post office to hand over the package, so the tracking still isn’t active.
The fact remains that starting from November 7 you can open an eBay case for item not received.
This is a SEPARATE / STANDALONE process, which has nothing to do with any complaint procedure for an item not as described or for a return request.
When you open the item not received case, the seller receives a notice and within a certain amount of time must respond.
If the seller marks it as shipped when in reality they haven’t done so yet, if the delivery time is only 4 or 5 days, if the seller takes TOO long before shipping the package that in the meantime has been marked on eBay as shipped, they risk losing both the item and the money in the event that the item has in the meantime been shipped (but much later than expected).
eBay protects you quite a lot in this respect.
Kind regards.
formigine831
OP2 years agoIn fact, the day after tomorrow, worst case scenario I’ll contact support, who should side with me; then if the seller gets back to me, even better
truedefender
·2 years agoHi. On the 7th you can contact support or, as suggested by heavenwelkin in the second message, the first reply to your post, go to the link they provided and open a complaint for item not received.
It’ll also be quicker.
You’ll see that NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENED, whether or not it’s attributable to the seller, they’ll get back to you because eBay will “force” them to.
Regards.
formigine831
OP2 years agoIn fact, on Tuesday I’ll contact support and also ask what happens, if the goods arrive anyway but late because of the seller’s negligence
heavenwelkin
·2 years agoThe seller, when listing the item for sale, must roughly take into account shipping and packaging times.
If he chooses to offer a delivery service within 24 / 48 hours, ebay adjusts the delivery estimates based on this service.
If he chooses to offer a courier that delivers in 3 / 5 days, ebay’s estimates get longer.
If a seller, for work-related reasons, lack of time or logistical problems (maybe the item for sale is located elsewhere), or for other reasons that can be the most varied, is not able to guarantee fast shipping, he can set a maximum shipping and packaging time of up to 30 days.
For info see here:
https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/shipping-items/data-di-consegna-prevista-per-i-venditori?id=4086
and also here:
https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/shipping-delivery/opzioni-sulla-data-di-consegna-acquirenti?id=4025
That said, what happens if a seller sets fairly short delivery times but then takes their time?
What happens is that once the estimated times set by ebay have passed, the buyer can:
A) Contact the seller to ask for an explanation for the delay.
B) Open a dispute for item not received without contacting the seller.
C) Open a dispute for item not received because the seller’s replies did not come or did not satisfy them.
When a claim for item not received is opened, ebay generally gives 3 days to allow the seller and the buyer to sort out the situation, after which ebay’s intervention can be requested.
What happens if in the meantime ebay rules against the seller and sends a refund to the buyer, who then receives the item in the meantime?
This happens:
Unfortunately at this point ebay can do very little if the seller has underestimated this aspect of shipping times and if the buyer decides to disappear.
In a similar situation the seller could take legal action against the buyer for misappropriation.
Best regards.

·2 years agoHi, I’m taking the liberty of writing what I think, based on personal experience.
Assuming there isn’t any kind of problem on the seller’s side; we have no reason to believe that, it’s possible that:
A) the Poste Italiane website hasn’t yet received your shipment, so you still can’t find it updated (odd because several days have passed). It’s happened to me that the tracking was updated 2/3 days after the shipment actually left;
B) the seller marked it as shipped but hasn’t actually sent the package yet. They may have the code for the registered mail, for example, that they will send, but they haven’t sent it yet. This has happened to me too, I have to say, rarely.
These are just my guesses!!
Check how many days the seller has set for shipping.
However, as good advice from heavenwelkin on the 7th you’ll be able to "move" and maybe the seller will show up again.
Best regards!!
formigine831
OP2 years agoI wouldn't want the reason for the seller's silence to simply be that they went on vacation because of the long weekend. I'll follow up again on Tuesday, and if there are no updates, I'll file a complaint with eBay to get a refund
heavenwelkin
·2 years agoHello fomigine831
Without going too far with assumptions, if eBay tells you that delivery is expected by November 6 and the seller does not respond to messages, on November 7 you can open a claim for item not received.
see here: https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-refunds/ottieni-aiuto-per-un-oggetto-che-non-arrivato?id=4042
So don't worry.
Best regards.
formigine831
OP2 years agoThanks for the response, I think that on the morning of the 7th, if something doesn't change, I'll file a complaint.
