Hi.
I was curious and interested in varying my shipping methods.
I read something on the forum about InPost.
Probably I misunderstood or didn’t navigate the carrier’s website very well.
Can someone confirm for me (or send me information/explanations about where and how to check) that with them it’s only possible to ship within Italy?
On their website I simulated a shipment, but I can only send from an InPost Point or InPost Locker (which is fine) to an InPost Point or InPost Locker... that is, not to a home/work address. Is that correct?
As always, thank you!!!

What is InPost
InPost Italy is a service that provides Locker points / pickup points for parcels.
For shipments: home pickup is not always included — often it means dropping the parcel off at a locker or partner point, or having the recipient pick it up there.
On the Packlink site there is this page about InPost
https://www.packlink.it/inpost/
Meanwhile, on the ebay-packlink page, if you search for "inpost", it seems that the service is no longer operational.
https://support-ebay.packlink.com/hc/it
We can infer that if you want to ship with InPost you can do so, but you have to do it through an external service outside eBay.
So I deduce that the InPost logo no longer appears in eBay listings.
On the “Shipping” page on the InPost website, it states that with InPost you can choose whether to receive the shipment at home or pick it up / drop it off at a Locker or InPost Point.
However, the InPost Direct offer, which is the one for private use (between private individuals), explicitly provides that shipping is from Locker or InPost Point → to Locker or InPost Point. Delivery to home is not предусмотрено through this channel.
So the buyer should then be informed that home delivery is not available, but honestly that doesn’t seem ideal, since it should be the buyer who can choose whether to have the parcel delivered to home/work or to a nearby locker / pickup point.

OP1 year ago@@heavenwelkin thanks.
You confirmed what I had more or less understood, and it was pretty obvious from the InPost website.
Actually, I think the buyer should be able to choose from the start whether to receive their shipment at home or in a locker/pickup point. It’s not really the case to let them know later, even if it were before booking the shipment.
Besides, I think that (even if the number is growing) only a few people prefer a parcel to pick up rather than having it delivered to home or the workplace.
Best regards!!

·1 year agopersonally, even though there is a real increase in those who pick up at pickup points / lockers , I still prefer to ship directly to the recipient's home , so for now I have never really considered using Inpost or couriers that use similar services.....
another doubt I have about using it comes from a point that Ebay support has never clarified for me, namely: what exactly happens if the package arrives at the pickup point, is not collected, and then the buyer opens a dispute for item not received?

OP1 year ago@@daxsisko I also always prefer to send the shipment to the home address (whether it’s home or the workplace).
I had opened the post because some time ago I read another post on the forum where it was mentioned that it was possible to ship small items with InPost even abroad, with a tracked shipment, at a reasonable price.
I probably read it wrong and not very carefully.
Besides, the possibility of sending only to a locker or pickup point would have cooled my intentions anyway, regardless of the price and shipping abroad.
Unfortunately, my experiences with shipments that ended up being delivered, not by choice but because the recipients weren’t available or because of Brt’s one-sided decisions (abroad), to pickup points have not been positive at all. Once even Poste Italiane, who are usually quite precise about this, made a huge mess over a simple package in Genoa....
Best regards.
